  • Publication number: 20130171216
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to an aqueous microcapsule composition comprising a plurality of microcapsule particles, a film-forming mixture, and an aqueous solvent. Each microcapsule particle comprises a sol-gel material and a volatile oil-soluble active ingredient encapsulated by the sol-gel material. The film-forming mixture of the present disclosure extends the efficacy of the volatile oil-soluble active ingredient encapsulated in the microcapsule particles by improving the adherence of the microcapsule particles to the substance to which the aqueous microcapsule composition is applied (e.g., a keratinous substance or a fabric). The aqueous microcapsule composition of the instant disclosure—which is free of formaldehyde and stable in aqueous solvents—is well-suited for use in aqueous personal care products.

  • Patent number: 8206050
Abstract: An elongate container includes a cylindrical chamber having an opening at one end of the container. A collar is affixed to the elongate container, and a threaded rod is axially disposed within the cylindrical chamber and coupled to the collar. The collar is adapted to rotate the threaded rod relative to the elongate container. A piston is disposed within the cylindrical chamber and is threadingly engaged with the threaded rod. The piston includes a sealing ring adapted to circumferentially seal against an inner wall of the cylindrical chamber and at least two axially aligned ribs. The ribs are disposed on a side of the piston and seated against the inner wall of the cylindrical chamber. With this arrangement, rotation of the threaded rod causes translation of the piston in the axial direction.

  • Patent number: 7635273
Abstract: The present invention provides power supply devices having illuminated receptacles. Some or all of the receptacles are encircled or otherwise circumscribed by a lighting member. The lighting member may be a continuous strip of material, such as an electroluminescent laminate. The lighting member may illuminate the receptacles regardless of whether the receptacles themselves are currently powered. Thus, although the power supply device is in a no or low light environment, or when the device is plugged in but is turned off, a user may easily identify where the receptacles are, which ones are available, and which equipment is plugged into which receptacles. The lighting member may be color coded according to a surge protection rating for the power supply device. In this case, the user can immediately identify which power supply devices have a given surge protection, and can therefore distinguish among different power supply devices having similar physical configurations.
