Abstract: Systems and methods for on-loom detection of faults in fabric. An image-capture trigger-mechanism triggers an imaging device to capture a first image of a section of the weaving area at a first instant during each weft insertion cycle and a second image of the section of weaving area may be captured at a second instant during each weft insertion cycle. The images may be timed to provide images of the warp yarns and the weft yarns at optimal instants during the weft insertion cycle. An image processor detects irregularities in the data received from the imaging device.
Abstract: On-loom fabric inspection system (500) including an imaging device (522) configured to collect images of a weaving area (518) of a loom (502). An image-capture trigger-mechanism (529) triggers the imaging device (522) to capture images at required instants during the weaving cycle. An image processor (524) receives data from the imaging device (522) and further detects irregularities in the data.
Abstract: An on-loom fabric inspection system having at least one imaging device configured to collect images of at least one section of a weaving area of a loom including a shed region, a woven fabric region and a fell region. The system is operable to detect faults in the weaving area and to produce batches of woven fabric assigned with an objective quality index.
