  • Patent number: 5944464
Abstract: The load restraining system for refrigerated vehicles having insulated ceiling/roof structures. The ceiling/roof is provided with a downwardly facing ceiling surface having a multiplicity of sockets spaced substantially throughout the ceiling. Vertically extendible poles have a projection on the upper end for engaging a socket and thereby locating the upper end of the pole against horizontal movement in any direction. The lower end of each pole has a foot for engaging the floor in a manner to inhibit horizontal movement in any direction. Numerous poles can be positioned throughout the refrigerated vehicle at virtually infinitely variable locations to restrain loads of different sizes and shapes.

  • Patent number: 5111867
Abstract: A support roller device for heavy curtains of the type used on curtain-sided cargo carrying vehicles wherein the roller has a pair of spaced wheels for engaging rails of a track member that has a downwardly opened slot between the rails. A guide block with longitudinally spaced flanges of a low friction material is positioned in the track slot and is only slightly narrower than the track slot to guide the device and roller along the track. The guide block is a separate member mounted on a metal hanger from the roller in one embodiment and is formed as an integral part of the hanger in a second embodiment.

  • Patent number: 4826236
Abstract: A mobile panel that provides easy access to cargo loads in the center of a curtain-sided vehicle. A main tensioning device, usually installed at a front corner of a curtain-sided vehicle is used for applying horizontal tension to the curtain. Vertical tensioning straps along the length of the curtain provide vertical tension to the curtain as well as load security. At the rear of the curtain-sided vehicle a curtain pole, attached to the curtain, is inserted in a channel and anchored securely so that tension may be applied by the main tensioning device at the front of the curtain-sided vehicle. A mobile panel is located in the center of the curtain. The mobile panel hangs from rollers which engage a rail along the upper outside edge of the curtain-sided vehicle. The mobile panel has two quick release devices for receiving and securing curtain poles that are attached to the curtain.
