  • Patent number: 7596084
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for using Differentiated Services (DiffServ) to implement the IP packet classification and the marking of a Differential Service Code Point (DSCP) for the quality of service (QoS) in the wireless access network of the IP-based universal mobile telecommunication system (UMTS). The present invention makes a classification to the data stream which is outgoing from the Iub interface at the Node B side, data stream which is outgoing from the Iub interface at the RNC side and data stream which is outgoing from the Iur interface at the RNC side according to the direction and the process of the respective data streams, and assigns and adjusts the priority of the data stream classified according to the principles for optimizing QoS and radio resources. When the network is congested, the data stream with a high level will have a higher priority than that with a lower level in queue and source occupancy, and the packet with a lower priority in the same queue is discarded.

  • Patent number: 7376128
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for Voice Handling via Dynamic Home Agents in a Network employing All-IP Architecture, and a system for handling voice call by using this method. The method comprises the following steps: when a first RCU is about to initiate voice call with a second RCU, a first agent address FA will be assigned to a corresponding mobile RCU by the RNC in which the mobile RCU resides; when the RCUs perform the voice call, corresponding Media Gateway (MG) assigns second agent address HA1 and HA2 to the first and second RCUs, respectively. Wherein both HA1 and HA2 are only valid during this call, and when the call is terminated or dropped, HA1 and HA2 will be released back to the pool of the IP addresses of the corresponding MG. The first and second RCUs implement the voice call based on the assigned first and second agent addresses.

  • Publication number: 20070077929
Abstract: The present application discloses a method for implementing macro-diversity management by using intelligent VBS the size of a cell cluster is intelligently adjusted by using a mobile server, and the macro-diversity of the cell cluster is performed by dynamically selecting a parent base station. Specifically, according to load condition of a cell in the cluster, the most effective cell is selected as the parent base station so as to balance inter-cell load balancing. Furthermore, since different VBSs can exchange information through the mobile server, the intelligent VBS hierarchy can perform inter-cell cluster and inter-VBS macro-diversity. Such an intelligent VBS hierarchy can avoid a plurality of Iur interface signalings due to frequent handover between radio network controllers (RNC), and balance load imbalance due to inter-cell soft handover.
