  • Publication number: 20080301143
Abstract: The present invention generally relates to a system and method for automatically updating a MIB by using a meta MIB, and more particularly to a system and method for automatically updating a MIB by using a meta MIB comprising agent 100 for generating an OID named as MIB Info Last Change Time, storing it in the MIB and synchronizing the meta MIB by transmitting a Trap when MIB Info Last Change Time is changed; and NMS 200, in case a trap is inputted to the NMS, for reading an information in a meta MIB Info to SNMP Walk Operation, rewriting a meta MIB information of the agent based on the read information, storing the meta MIB information in the MIB and transmitting the meta MIB information to the agent. In accordance with the present invention, the drawback residing in the conventional structure is ameliorated by designing a basic structure of SMI in the form of meta MIB, SMI defining management information of MIB which is exchanged between the agent and the NMS.

  • Patent number: 7406325
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method of allocating links in a base station of a 1×EVDO (EVolution Data Only) system. Conventionally, since a 1×EVDO system sequentially allocates a link to a user who requested a call setup irrespective of the link status, some of the allocated links may suffer from overload that eventually decreases the data transmission rate for the user. However, in order to perform the link allocation in due consideration of the link status, the present invention uses a link database including various status information, such as an equipment confirmation flag, a block flag, a current status, the total call user number, and the current call user number. With the status information, a base station control processor (BCP) in the 1×EVDO system of the present invention distributes traffic loads among the links and ensures an optimized data transmission rate.

  • Publication number: 20080133588
Abstract: The present invention relates to a structure of a Management Information Base (MIB) communicated between a Network Management System (NMS) and an agent of a Network Element (NE). Conventionally, an operator provides the MIB to the NMS and the NE agent before the communication. If the MIB is not provided before the communication, the NMS cannot know what data to be retrieved from the NE agent and thus cannot understand the MIB. In order to resolve this problem, the present invention suggests using the claimed structure of MIB for communicating between the NMS and the NE agent. According to the present invention, when a MIB of the NE agent is changed, the MIB of the NE agent is reflected to the NMS automatically, and not by an operator's action. Therefore, the network can be managed automatically.

  • Publication number: 20070291760
Abstract: The present invention provides an apparatus and method for dualizing an Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) router in a CDMA2000 system. In a conventional wireless communication system, an ATM router in a Base Station Controller (BSC) has two separate dualized main central processing boards, which are also referred to as ADSL Subscriber Physical board Assembly (ASPA) boards. Each of the ASPA boards includes one operation and maintenance processor, which maintains configuration and operation information. One of the conventional dualized ASPA boards transmits its configuration and operation information to the other, or receives the information from the other, in the form of message. This is in order to maintain the consistency between the information of the dualized ASPA boards, as needed. Such message passing, however, is generally time consuming and may possibly create network overload.

  • Publication number: 20070220133
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method for correcting time data in a network management application. In a conventional Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) application, time errors occur due to a time tick or a time delay in the network. To resolve the above problem, the present invention suggests a method for correcting the time data, wherein the network management application waits for the most polling periods to save system resources, checks time data for the last polling period, and requests performance information and statistic information. With the present invention, the possibility of incurring time errors due to the information request for polling can be resolved.

  • Publication number: 20070189228
Abstract: The present invention generally relates to a method for establishing an asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) traffic channel path between a SF block of a base station controller (BSC) and a channel card block (HCCA) of a base transceiver station (BTS). More particularly, the present invention is directed to a method for establishing an ATM traffic channel path between the SF block of the BSC and the channel card block of the BTS and exchanging information on such established path necessary for establishing such path, wherein the blocks have been designed and implemented in the course of commercializing ATM communication network based on an evolution-data only (EV-DO) system of Qualcomm. The present invention modifies a conventional message between the BSC and BTS, conceives a new message between them while reflecting the conventional message and provides an additional way of exchanging information on the ATM path.
