Abstract: A granulated material having an improved size distribution and a method and apparatus for the production of such a granular material where the grain size and grain size distribution is controlled by the use of a rotating distributor. The rotating distributor includes an upper inlet opening, sidewalls, a bottom and at least one row of openings at the lower end of the sidewalls. The openings in the sidewalls have a size of at least 5 mm in the smallest dimension.

Abstract: A nozzle, a tundish arrangement used for the production of granulated material, and a method and apparatus for the production of a granulated material with an improved size distribution are provided. The grain size and grain size distribution is controlled by a nozzle having a specific design. The nozzle comprises an upper inlet opening, sidewalls forming a channel, a bottom and at least one outlet opening or at least one row of outlet openings at the lower end of the channel. The outlet opening(s) in the channel have a size of at least 5 mm in the smallest dimension. A cross sectional area of the channel at the inlet AC is at least 3 times bigger than the total area of the outlet openings AT.

Abstract: The invention relates to a tilting mechanism for a tilting metallurgical vessel, in particular a converter, around a horizontal axis, comprising a rotatable shaft and at least one tilting drive mechanism for rotating the vessel about the axis, the at least one tilting drive mechanism has a fixed part and a moving part, wherein the moving part of the at least one tilting drive mechanism is directly connected to one end of the rotatable shaft.

Abstract: For transport of granulate from a granulation tank by means of liquid and air, an ejector is provided with a side inlet for granulate, a first end with a spray nozzle for pressurized transport liquid, and a second end with an inlet for pressurized gas. Downstream from the second end, an outlet spray nozzle for a three-phase flow of liquid, granulate, and gas is provided. A first conduit has a lower end connected with the outlet for transport of the three-phase flow. The ejector includes a tubular ejector housing with an internal wear liner and an outlet spray nozzle made from a durable material. The inlet for pressurized gas includes a ring-shaped chamber that surrounds the periphery of the ejector and is connected with the inside of the ejector through a ring-shaped slit that directs the pressurized gas towards the outlet of the ejector.
