In particular, the extract is obtainable by a process comprising the steps of preparing a mixture of a plant material obtained from Trigonella foenum-graecum and liquid, incubating said mixture for at least 3 hours, heating of said mixture, and recovering a liquid extract from mixture. The extract is useful in the manufacture of various types of compositions, such as pharmaceutical compositions, disinfectant or preservation agents. The pharmaceutical may be used for the treatment or prevention of an inflammatory disease or an infectious condition.
