Abstract: A universal single hung window including a frame and at least one sash therein movable in the plane of the frame and tiltable about a lower edge thereof out of the plane of the frame, whereby the window may be used as a single hung or a hopper window in one position thereof, and in another position thereof may be used as a glider window. The window structure includes a thermal barrier between a prime window and a storm window. The sash is provided with a balance foot and lower sash guide structure to permit pivoting of the sash about the one edge thereof and support of the sash by a sash balance. Pivoting of the window is permitted on release of tilt release and sash guide mechanism at the upper edge of the sash.

A pivot lock having an over center spring therein extends in one position thereof into the path of the one prime window sash to lock it in closed position. Abstract: Sliding door structure including an outer frame, at least one fixed and one movable door panel, and a screen door, said frame including a head having a single, inwardly extending movable door panel guiding fin and all mitered corners which corners include integral, offset abutment structure for insuring proper alignment of the corners in assembly, improved weather stripping at both the top and bottom rail of both the fixed and movable door panels, bottom adjusting structure for the movable door panel, and two-member glazing structure for the door panels capable of resisting high wind force and permitting glazing of the door panels from the inside. The frame and door panels include substantially universal and reversible members to reduce inventory. Resilient bumpers, a weather stop and prowler lock structure permitting locking of the sliding door structure of the movable door panel in a number of selected positions are also disclosed.

Abstract: Universal window structure which may be used as a single hung window, as a hopper window and as a right or left hand glider window without alteration is disclosed. Mulling means for securing a plurality of the window structures together, retaining clips for securing a screen thereto, false muntin structure, hurricane clips and piggyback storm window structure therefor and window trim structure for use therewith are specifically disclosed along with unique glazing strips, an insert for supporting sash balance structure, sealing strips and corner inserts, sash pivot structure, lock structure, sash guide and tilt release structure and hopper lock means for retaining the window sash in a plurality of separate tilted hopper positions. The frame of the window structure is constructed to permit rapid, accurate assembly with a minimum of low tolerance parts and to this end includes frame jamb adaptor extrusions.

Abstract: Universal window structure for use as a single-hung window, a hopper window, or a right or left-hand glider window and having a box frame and at least one movable sash is disclosed.An improved mull cover for securing a plurality of the universal window structures together, sash guide and tilt release structure for permitting tilting of the movable sash out of the plane of the window structure, and sash guide and pivot structure for the movable sash are also disclosed, together with an improved sash balance shoe, improved locking structure for the movable sash, improved glazing structure, improved weather stripping, structure for maintaining the weathertightness of the window structure during high winds, and a combination screen retainer and movable sash seal. The window structure of the invention may be installed from the inside of a window opening by means of unique installation clips and can be installed from the exterior of a window opening in conjunction with a unique installation bracket.
