Abstract: A Plate and Shell type plate heat exchanger, which comprises an inner shell (9) completely surrounding a plate pack (2) and inner end plates (11a, 11b) in the direction of the ends of the plate pack. The inner shell (9) is by its inner surface arranged into contact with the outer edge of the baffle plates (8a, 8b) arranged on the surface of the plate pack and by its outer surface the inner shell (9) is arranged to support itself against the inner surface of the shell (3) of the outer casing of the heat exchanger. The inner end plates (11a, 11b) are supported by their outer surface against the inner surface of the end plates (4a, 4b) of the outer casing.
Abstract: The invention comprises a heat exchanger with plate structure and a flow guide plate (32). The flow guide plate (32) comprises at least one recess (42) for turning the stream of a heat transfer medium substantially from the direction of the thickness of the plate to be parallel with the plane of the plate.

Abstract: The invention relates to a heat exchanger (1) with plate structure, comprising a stack (6) of plates fitted inside a housing unit (2) assembled by welding circular heat transfer plates (10) and used as a pressure vessel. All the passages (7, 8, 26, 27) of the heat exchanger (1) are arranged to extend through an end plate (4). A flow guide (24) with the shape of the letter Z, or the like, is placed between the end plate (14) of the housing unit (2) and the end plate (14) of the stack (6) of plates.
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a device for improving heat transfer in a circular plate heat exchanger (1), as well as a heat transfer plate to be used therein. The invention is based on changing the flow conditions in the radial direction in such a way that the heat transfer remains even. The ridges between the grooves of the heat transfer plates (10) may be, in their shape, evolvent graphs or the like.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for welding thin sheets (34) and (35) at the periphery of aligned holes therein by melting the sheets together by a rotating electrode (23) in a protective gas atmosphere. The sheets (34) and (35) are pressed together by copper rings (32) and (33) which also function as heat transfer members to conduct the heat away from the welding seam and thus prevent distortion thereat. The electrode (23) is adjusted to the proper vertical position by a guide (9) in a jig (7), and it is locked to the position determined by the sheets (34) and (35) by a clamp (31).
