Abstract: A collapsible reel having a high strength to weight ratio is provided. The collapsible reel comprises a core, around which a flexible media is wound, and flanges which prevent the wound flexible media from migrating axially off the core. The core is formed of first and second blanks having core portions and a plurality of spaced apart arms or tabs projecting from the core portions.
Abstract: A collapsible reel for storing wound items is preferably transported in a first or collapsed state and subsequently assembled or deployed into an operative, second state. First and second sidewalls having a first thickness are pulled apart to a second operative position. Arm portions form a central core around which the media is wrapped, and sidewall portions are disposed at one end of select arm portions to provide additional sidewall thickness to the final assembly.
Abstract: A collapsible reel having a high strength to weight ratio is provided. The collapsible reel comprises a core, around which a flexible media is wound, and flanges which prevent the wound flexible media from migrating axially off of the core. The core is formed of first and second blanks having hub portions and a plurality of spaced apart tabs projecting from the hub portions. To form the core, the tabs of each blank are folded and the tabs of the first blank are secured to the corresponding tabs of the second blank. The flanges are then adhered to the outer surface of the hub portions.
Abstract: A display includes a bin and base disposed in angular or hinged back relation. The blank for constructing the display advantageously uses a hinge line in substantially colinear relation with first and second cut lines spaced from one another by a panel. First and second angular score lines extend from the colinear cut lines to permit a panel disposed between the angular score lines to fold therealong and bend along the hinge line.

Abstract: A packaging assembly is adapted to protect an associated piece of furniture during shipment. The assembly includes a base member, corner posts, and a cover member received over upper ends of the corner posts. The base member includes block members disposed in the corners adapted to cooperate with the corner posts or, alternatively, adapted to receive mating block members in extension members. The extension members provide for incremental increases in the dimensions of the packaging assembly to aid in readily converting a standard packaging assembly to different sizes of furniture pieces.
