Abstract: A heat exchanger for vehicles comprises firstly a heat-exchanger assembly consisting of flat liquid-conveying tubes and surface-enlarging means, secondly an inlet tank, and thirdly an outlet tank. The inlet tank and the outlet tank have a connection plate with a number of connection holes for the tubes. At each hole, the plate has a projecting connecting sleeve element. Each tube has at its ends a widened main portion which is accommodated on said connecting sleeve element. A rounded transitional area is formed between the connection plate and each connecting sleeve element, and the main portion is inserted in the conecting sleeve element and is applied with its outside against the inside of the connecting sleeve element. Each tube has at its ends an end portion which is widened in relation to the main portion, merges with the main portion and is applied against the transitional area.

Abstract: The invention relates to a heat exchanger tank to be mounted in a heat exchanger, preferably an oil cooler. The tank has an elongate casing (1) with two opposite end openings (11, 11') and a side opening which extends from end opening to end opening. The tank also has two end pieces (6, 6') which sealingly connect to each end opening (11, 11') respectively, and a connecting plate (2) for connection to a heat exchanger assembly included in the heat exchanger. The connecting plate (2) sealingly connects to the boundary edges of the side opening. At each end opening (11, 11') the casing (1) is provided with at least one receiving means (10). Each end piece (6, 6') has at least one recess (14) aligned with the receiving means (10) of the casing (1). A fixing means (17) is inserted through the recess (14) and is fastened in the receiving means (10) of the casing (1). At least one engaging means is arranged at the respective end pieces (6, 6') engaging an end section of the connecting plate (2).

Abstract: In a heat exchanger tank, a connecting plate along its longitudinal side edges is provided with flange sections which extend substantially perpendicularly from the connecting plate, the flange sections of the connecting plate each have at least one engagement surface, the legs of a casing at their free end edges are provided with engagement means extending in the longitudinal direction of the casing, the engagement means of the casing lockingly engage the engagement surface of the respective flange section, and sealing connections of the plate with the legs are achieved by brazing.
