  • Patent number: 6513586
Abstract: The invention relates to a flat tube of a heat exchanger in heating installations or of a radiator of a motor vehicle which is folded from a flat sheet metal of aluminum or an aluminum alloy and across the respective flow of which spacers or the flat sides of the flat tube brazed or soldered to one another are distributed, which are designed as dents of the flat sides of the flat tube on one or both sides. According to the invention it is provided that in the same flow in addition to the spacers embossments freely projecting into the flow are distributed as turbulence-generating flow obstacles at least at one flat side of the flat tube.

  • Patent number: 6430945
Abstract: The invention relates to a process and a plurality of embodiments of a fluidifier for condensing the interior coolant of an automotive air conditioning system into a saturated state, and for subsequent supercooling of said coolant, whereby the ambient air of the motor vehicle serves in said process as the external coolant. The path of flow of the interior coolant is divided into at least two parallel paths, which are subsequently united again. Upstream of said paths, the interior coolant is partially condensed from the gas phase into the liquid phase, and then condensed further along the first parallel path of flow into the saturated state, whereby the residual gas phase of the interior coolant is separated, whereas along the second parallel path, the interior coolant is supercooled and united again in the supercooled state with the saturated interior coolant of the first parallel path, the latter having been freed of the gas phase.

  • Patent number: 6398269
Abstract: The invention relates to a tube connection between a collector (2) of a motor vehicle heat exchanger and a line (16) using a connecting sleeve (14) in which the free end (32) of the line (16) engages in a positive manner. An annular seal (28) is accommodated in the annular gap (22) between the inner surface (24) of the connecting sleeve (14) and the outer surface (26) of the line (16). An outer flange (38) is provided on the free end (40) of the connecting sleeve (14), and a buckled outer bead (36) is formed on the line (16). When the tube connection is completely assembled, said bead is tightened against the outer face (41) of the outer flange (38) by a clamping device (42). The seal (28) forms an insertion sleeve (44). A sealing element (48) is formed on the insertion sleeve in the peripheral area thereof situated close to the collector, and a sealing flange (46) projects from the peripheral area of the insertion sleeve situated away from the collector.

  • Patent number: 6315037
Abstract: The invention relates to a flat tube heat exchanger with two or more flows for motor vehicles with a deflecting (or reversing) bottom for deflecting (or reversing) adjacent flows of the flat tubes. According to the invention, it is provided that the deflecting bottom is resolved into deflecting bowls individually assigned to each flat tube, which bowls are connected to one another only via their connection to the respectively assigned flat tubes. The invention also relates to a process for manufacturing such a flat tube beat exchanger by pulling off, straightening and cutting into sections the flat tubes from a coil, mechanically pre-assembling the flat tube heat exchanger from its structural parts including the flat tubes and soldering or brazing. Here, it is provided that the deflecting bowls are mechanically pre-assembled with the flat tubes after they have been cut into sections and before pre-assembling the flat tube heat exchanger with the flat tubes.

  • Publication number: 20010003310
Abstract: The invention relates to a flat tube evaporator for motor vehicle air conditioning equipments with flat tubes (2), the longitudinal extension direction of which is vertical, and zig zag fins (8) arranged between the flat tubes (2), against which the external heat exchange fluid can flow (arrow 9). According to the invention it is provided that a water flow gutter (50) extending downwards on both sides of the flat tubes (2) is designed next to the rear end region (52) of the zig zag fins (8), seen in the flow direction (arrow 9) of the external heat exchange fluid.
