Abstract: A device for threading a paper web from a dryer section to a finishing device situated after the dryer section in the running direction of the web including a rope threading arrangement. A leader strip is separated from the edge of the paper web in the dryer section and the leader strip is directed between a pair of ropes included in the rope threading arrangement. The leader strip is carried to the finishing device on support of the ropes. To effect the transfer of the leader strip from the drying wire to the rope, at the inlet side of the last drying cylinder in the dryer section, a rope gap is formed out of the ropes and the leader strip, which is supported by the drying wire thereat, is transferred by an air blowing into the rope gap. The leader strip is passed by the ropes over the last drying cylinder to the finishing device.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for combining a dilution flow with a stock flow passed out of an inlet header in a paper/board machine including dilution flow ducts through which the dilution flow is passed to selected locations across the width of the headbox of the paper/board machine in order to regulate the basis weight of the paper/board web. The dilution flow ducts are constructed so that they becomes narrower toward a final, downstream end. Branch ducts are placed in the area of the narrowing portion of each flow duct, and the dilution flow is passed out of the branch ducts into the system of pipes wherein the dilution flow is combined with the stock flow passed out of the inlet header.
Abstract: A method and device for winding a material or fibrous web, wherein a number of separate web rolls are formed around separate roll cores placed one after another and side by side, while being supported by support members and loaded by a load of rider rolls in rider roll units in a truncated rider roll unit. During disturbed winding situations when the web roll separate from the winding rolls, the attachment of the rider roll unit/units to the rider roll beam is changed so that the rider rolls load the web rolls that are in a disturbed movement with a load substantially higher than the rider roll load during normal winding.
Abstract: A method and device for reeling a paper or board web, wherein a first reel spool is in a reeling position in nip-defining relationship with a reeling cylinder and an empty second reel spool is placed in a stand-by position, the web is carried on a belt until it is reeled onto the first reel spool and the belt is guided in a run over the reeling cylinder and a guide roll, the first reel spool being transferred from the reeling position and pushed by the guide roll to a change position and the second reel spool is moved to the reeling position when the reel formed on the first reel spool is complete.
