  • Patent number: 5511698
Abstract: A device for spraying a single dose of a fluid in divided form includes a cylindrical tank (1) containing the dose of fluid, a piston (2) sliding in the cylindrical tank (1), a pusher for the piston (2), and outlet passage (5, 6) capable of communicating with the cylindrical tank (1). The piston (2) is displaceable relative to the pusher between a storage position, in which it prevents communication between the outlet passage (5, 6) and the cylindrical tank (1), and an actuation position, in which it puts the outlet passage (5, 6) into communication with the cylindrical tank (1). According to one aspect of the invention, the piston (2) is maintained in its storage position by wedging.

  • Patent number: 5398830
Abstract: A closure system for a receptacle having a neck in which an opening is formed and provided with outwardly projecting external threads each extending between a first end further from the opening and a second end closer to the opening, the system comprising a cap having a side wall that surrounds the neck and that fits substantially snugly over the shape of the external threads thereof. The cap is made of a material that is elastically deformable, and at least some of the threads of the neck are spaced apart in pairs by a circumferential distance around the neck that decreases progressively between the first and second ends of the threads.

  • Patent number: 5237797
Abstract: A method for packaging a liquid to semi-solid substance under a vacuum inside a variable-capacity container closed by a dispenser member that prevents ingress of air, includes at least a stage in which the dispenser member is fixed in sealed manner on the container filled with the substance. The fixing takes place while the container is inside an enclosure in which an air vacuum is maintained. Apparatus for implementing the method includes, for example, a ring suitable for bearing downwards in sealed manner on the open top of a socket containing the container, thereby enabling the enclosure to be established. A device is provided therein for sucking out the air, and also for fixing on the dispenser member. It is possible to obtain like this dispensers that are particularly advantageous, particularly when the dispenser member is a precompression pump.

  • Patent number: 5234135
Abstract: A pump for dispensing or spraying a fluid product comprises a pump body delimiting a pump chamber in which slides a piston. The pump comprises a hollow plunger-rod having an outlet passage. The plunger-rod is coupled to the piston to actuate the piston and to enable escape of the product. The pump further comprises an aspiration chamber which communicates with the hollow plunger-rod and which is reduced in volume when the plunger-rod is depressed and increased in volume when pressure is removed from the plunger-rod. The aspiration chamber is delimited by the piston and the plunger-rod and the volume of the chamber is varied by relative sliding movement between the plunger-rod and the piston.

  • Patent number: 5226563
Abstract: A fluid spraying or dispensing device has a sheath 1 extending between an open first end 4 and a second end 5 provided with an end wall 6 which is pierced by at least one hole 7. A fluid tank 10 is slidably mounted inside the sheath and is provided with a fluid ejection device 13 controlled by a push rod 15 secured to the sheath, and a cover 30 is adapted to be slidably engaged on the second end of the sheath. The cover includes at least one projection 33 adapted to penetrate through the hole in the end wall of the sheath to enable the push rod to be actuated by pressing against the end wall of the tank.

  • Patent number: 5195665
Abstract: A pushbutton for a fluid dispenser includes a chamber 39 provided with three outlet orifices 5, and at least one cylindrical cavity 24 having an axis of symmetry 2. A piston 31 secured to three outlet closures is slidably received in the cylindrical cavity, and is urged by spring 37 to cause the three closures to seat and seal against the orifices. The piston is pushed back by the pressure of the fluid substance emitted by a dispenser to open the orifices, and is extended towards the outlet orifices by a rod 32 having a degree of flexibility. The closures are constituted by three valve pins 35 secured to the rod, each having a tip 36; 36' configured to close one of the orifices.

  • Patent number: 5176296
Abstract: Product admission into the working chamber 23 of a precompression pump is accelerated by providing a differential piston 4 with a bore 63 which establishes communication between the inside of a skirt 42 and a shoulder 44. A cylindrical sealing element 60 is fitted over a spindle 41 to be applied against the shoulder 44, level with two annular contacts 64, 65 between which the bore terminates. The sealing element closes the bore on discharge of the precompressed product dose. The sealing element is configured such that, particularly when the pump is idle, it is kept deformed and is therefore applied to the shoulder 44 with sufficient force to guarantee the seal of the two annular contacts 64, 65.

  • Patent number: 5169038
Abstract: A metering valve having a metering chamber (7) and a valve rod (2) lying in a valve body (1). The valve rod includes an inlet channel (211, 214) which puts the metering chamber (207) into communication with a can (11) of substance under pressure when the valve rod is in a rest position. The inlet channel forms a siphon which prevents the valve from draining when it is the rightway up.

  • Patent number: 4964547
Abstract: A spray head for use with a receptacle containing a liquid which is maintained under pressure by a propellant gas, thereby enabling a product to be packaged so that it is protected from coming into contact with the air, the spray head being of the type comprising a manually-operated precompression pump which includes a pump chamber comprising first and second cylinders (11, 15) capable of engaging telescopically, said chamber being closed by relative displacement of said cylinders, said first cylinder being integral with the pump outlet valve and being provided at one of its end with a circular sealing lip (12) capable of engaging against and of sliding along the wall of said second cylinder, which second cylinder is in communication with the inside of the receptacle, said wall being provided at at least one of its ends with fairly substantial relief (18, 25) such that when said sealing lip lies over said relief and said relief causes sealing to be broken, a passage is opened suitable for passing gas at a rat
