Patent number: 10696610Abstract: A procedure for hydrogenation of alpha dimethyl styrene dimer that is scalable, economical, and safe is provided. These processes routinely provide greater than a 98% yield and require no purification step. The methods of producing hydrogenated alpha dimethyl styrene dimer comprising adding to a reactor under nitrogen a catalyst comprising Ru/C or Rh/C and an alpha dimethyl styrene dimer to form a catalyst and alpha dimethyl styrene dimer reaction mixture. The reaction mixture is then heated under pressure until hydrogenation of the alpha dimethyl styrene dimer is complete. To recover the hydrogenated alpha dimethyl styrene dimer, the reaction mixture is filtered through a celite bed under nitrogen.Type: GrantFiled: December 10, 2018Date of Patent: June 30, 2020Assignee: VALVOLINE LICENSING AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY LLCInventors: Rajkumar Rajule, Jesse Dambacher

Patent number: 10518947Abstract: A controlled pour bottle is disclosed which possesses a vent tube leading from the neck to an elevated shoulder. The vent tube inhibits the interruption of the flow of a poured fluid due to the ingestion of air back into the bottle by allowing the headspace to fill with air without ingesting air through the fluid flow as the bottle empties.Type: GrantFiled: November 4, 2016Date of Patent: December 31, 2019Assignee: Valvoline Licensing & Intellectual Property LLCInventors: Joseph A. Publication number: 20190299794Abstract: Systems and methods are described for tracking charge information of a vehicle. A sensor monitors one or more parameters of the vehicle over a period of time. A telematics device receives and processes the parameters to determine a vehicle telematics information. The telematics device transmits the vehicle telematics information to an entity device.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 27, 2018Publication date: October 3, 2019Applicant: Valvoline Licensing and Intellectual Property, LLCInventors: Adam E. Publication number: 20190276765Abstract: raction fluid additive combination that is usable with any traction fluids base stock is provided. To optimize the traction, low temperature viscosity and shear stability performance, a combination of a polyisobutene and a polymethacrylate may be added to a base oil to obtain a traction fluid with good low temperature viscosity without degrading the shear strength properties of the fluid. To minimize foaming of the traction fluid, a combination of one, two, or more anti-foaming agents may be added to the fluid in addition to a standard additive package.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 6, 2019Publication date: September 12, 2019Applicant: VALVOLINE LICENSING AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY LLCInventors: Gefei Wu, Ning Ren, Frances E. Patent number: 10323207Abstract: A gear or engine oil or other type of lubricant, which effectively reduces churning losses in a dip lubrication system or any lubrication system where churning loss occur has a surface tension less than 28 mN/m and viscosity less than 400 mPa-sec at 25° C. (about 500 cSt at 25° C.). Formulations include Group I-IV base oil, in combination with an amount of silicone oil effective to decrease the surface tension of the oil, thereby reducing churning losses. When the base oil is prominently Group III, the coefficient of friction of the gear oil is also reduced.Type: GrantFiled: November 20, 2014Date of Patent: June 18, 2019Assignees: Imperial Innovations Limited, Valvoline Licensing and Intellectual Property LLCInventors: Anant S.
