Abstract: Pole rod electrodes especially for quadrupole mass spectrometers are seated in a pipe of thermally moldable material formed with a number of intersecting adjacent inside flat surfaces in precise relationship with the pole rods parallel to one another within a tolerance of a few micrometers arranged to insure a resolution within the range around the mass number 1000 so that it is possible to separate completely adjacent integral mass numbers, the rods being capable of removal.
