Abstract: A multilayer plate is disclosed which includes three layers. A carbon layer is covered by a metallic layer, and a substrate layer is covered at least partially by the carbon layer and the metallic layer. The metallic layer includes a first zone and a second zone. The first zone is a zone defined by the carbon layer and the second zone is a zone defined by carbon layer-free zone. The substrate layer is made of a polyurethane flexible foam. The first zone has a higher thermal conductivity as the second zone. The multilayer plate can be used as a demonstration display for demonstrating the different thermal conductivity in the first zone compared to the second zone to a consumer.
Abstract: A shaped body includes at least one spring and at least one foam section. An uppermost section of the foam section is attached to an uppermost section of the at least one spring and a lowest section of the foam section is attached to the lowest section of the at least one spring. The uppermost section is attached by affixation through a top plate to the at least one spring and the lowest section is attached by affixation through a bottom plate to the at least one spring. The at least one spring is arranged adjacent to the at least one foam section. The top plate and the bottom plate are sufficiently mechanically firm to generate parallel behavior of the at least one spring and the at least one foam section.
Abstract: A foam padding (10) is disclosed. The foam padding (10) has sections (32, 34), each covering at least one hollow volume (12, 14) of the padding said padding (10) including a flexible elongated band (20) for transferring thermal energy from at least one hollow volume (12) in a first one of said sections (32) in the event of excess thermal energy towards at least one hollow volume (14) in a second section (34) in the padding (10) not containing excess thermal energy. The band (20) has a continuous electrically conducting layer (22) with a defined area extending from at least one first section (32) to another different second section (34).
Abstract: A shaped body having at least one spring and at least one foam section. The shaped body may be a viscoelastic foam and may include a temperature-regulating device arranged in thermal contact with the foam section and a control device for the temperature-regulating device adapted to adjust the firmness of the foam section by alteration of temperature. The shaped body is used as a bed or mattress for promoting sleep in one application or as a cushion.
Abstract: In order to adjust the firmness of a shaped product in a targeted way, it is proposed to provide at least one section made of a thermoelastic and viscoelastic plastic, a temperature-regulating device placed in thermal contact with the at least one section made of thermoelastic and viscoelastic plastic, and a control device for the temperature-regulating device configured to adjust the firmness of the at least one section made of thermoelastic and viscoelastic plastic by changing the temperature. Such a shaped product can be used as a seat base or bed support.
