  • Patent number: 8318118
Abstract: A process for the treatment of gas phase alkaline chlorides in a combustion plant that is arranged for combustion of solid fuel and which includes a combustion chamber from which a flue-gas flow is directed to pass a heat transfer device. A phosphorous substance is added to the flue-gas flow, separate from the fuel, the substance chosen from a group of substances that form phosphorous oxide at combustion temperatures of approx. 500° C. or above, wherein the phosphorous substance is distributed in the flue-gas at a location upstream of the heat transfer device. The phosphorous substance is added to an amount which results in phosphatising of gas phase alkaline chlorides included in the flue-gas flow before the chlorides reach the heat transfer device. A corresponding combustion plant is disclosed, as well as the use of a phosphorous substance for phosphatising alkaline chloride in gaseous phase in a flue-gas flow.

  • Patent number: 6666338
Abstract: A device for the separation of solid objects (9) from fluid flowing in a conduit tube (2) includes a housing that includes a tubular outer wall (3) and a tubular inner wall (4). Between these is delimited a collecting space (8). Concentrically relative to the inner wall (4) is provided a rotation-symmetrical central body (12) which at opposing ends cooperates with flow converting devices (15, 16), which transform incoming flow to a rotative motion and outgoing flow to an axial motion. In the inner wall (4) are recessed tangentially separated holes (20) of elongated shape, through which the scrap objects may pass and be collected in a collecting space (8). In the collecting space (8) a calm flow operation is obtained which guarantees that collected scrap objects are not carried away and returned to the main fluid flow through the separation device.

  • Patent number: 6040491
Abstract: In a method and an apparatus for dewatering and containing radioactive, aqueous waste (44), the latter is introduced into a filtration container (12) and is ultimately disposed of in a disposable container structure (12, 48, 50), which comprises the filtration container (12) holding the dewatered waste (44), as well as an outer container (50) enclosing the filtration container (12). The filtration container is an inner sack (12) having a bottom (13) which is provided with a straining cloth and through which essentially all the dewatering is carried out. After the dewatering operation has been completed, the inner sack (12) is sealed and placed in the outer container (50) in order to be ultimately disposed of. For purposes of cleaning, the filtration water (17) may be recirculated through the waste during the dewatering operation.

  • Patent number: 5898749
Abstract: The invention relates to a steam blowing tube for nuclear power plants of the kind which has a lower end immersed in a water pool, the purpose of tube being to permit, if required, the blow down of steam into the water of the pool with the purpose of condensing the same so as to counteract the build-up of damaging steam overpressure in the containment of the reactor. A number of through holes are recessed in the wall (11) of the individual blow down tube (10) which each one is delimited by upper and lower edges (13, 14) of which at least one constitutes part of a portion (15) bent in relation to the tube wall (14). The lower hole edge (14) forms a steam flow cutting edge which, when the steam rushes down through the tube, divides a part flow from the main steam flow and brings said part flow out into the surrounding water of the pool before the main flow reaches the bottom opening (12) of the tube.

  • Patent number: 5751542
Abstract: A wall socket is adapted to be flush-mounted in a wall terminal box. The base of the wall socket comprises a base portion, which is flush-mounted in the wall terminal box and supports connector terminals for an alternating voltage available in the wall terminal box, as well as a surface-mounted base portion, which is located outside, and is laterally offset in relation to the opening of the wall terminal box and which supports at least one low-voltage socket (31) for a direct voltage. A surface-mounted cover (40) encloses not only the opening of the wall terminal box (10) but also the surface-mounted and laterally-offset base portion, and further is formed with one or more openings giving access to the low-voltage socket. A transformer and rectifier element arranged in the wall terminal box has an alternating voltage side for connection to the alternating voltage, as well as a direct-voltage side for emitting step-down transformed and rectified voltage to the low-voltage socket (31).

  • Patent number: 5736839
Abstract: Method for generating low magnetic fields from a three-phase conductor arrangement. Four phase conductors are used, one phase being split into two phase conductors which are arranged one on each side of the phase conductors of the unsplit phases in a planar phase arrangement. • Patent number: 5554800
Abstract: For the purpose of detecting the presence of surface flaws in tubular members, the surface to be inspected is first coated with penetrant and any excessive penetrant then removed. A device is then moved along the tubular member until that part of the surface to be inspected is reached, whereafter the device is expanded into abutment with this tubular surface. Penetrant that has entered a surface flaw is transferred to the surface of the device, where it can be made visible and studied, subsequent to having constricted the device and removed it from the tubular member. An instrument is provided which includes the device so as to enable a tubular member to be pre-treated with penetrant and penetrant transferred to the surface of the device.
