    Abstract: A surgical instrument for use with a trocar that provides access to an interior portion of a patient. The instrument includes an elongated rod portion sized to fit within the trocar and a leg portion attached to the elongated rod portion and movable with respect to the leg portion to define an acute angle therebetween. A marker is attached to the leg portion and is operable to apply a marking substance to the interior of the patient.
