Patent number: 5516012Abstract: Apparatus for steam treatment and hot-air treatment of garments hanging on a conveyor by clothes hangers in a housing, into which the garments are introduced through an inlet lock and from which the garments are removed through an outlet lock. There is provided in the housing, after the inlet lock in the conveying direction, a steam treatment section with steam outlet nozzles directed onto the garments on both sides of the conveying path. After the steam treatment section in the conveying direction, a hot-air treatment section with at least one inlet opening is provided, which opening introduces hot air into the housing. At least one outlet opening is also provided, which removes hot air from the housing. The inlet and outlet opening are part of an air-circulation circuit system. At least one outlet opening is also provided, which removes hot air from the housing.Type: GrantFiled: July 12, 1994Date of Patent: May 14, 1996Assignee: Veit GmbH & Co.Inventor: Karl-Heinz Weigel

Patent number: 4881468Abstract: Described in a suspension conveyor system suitable for the use of conveyance units having two travelling rollers interconnected by an open yoke. The suspension conveyor system is universally applicable and capable of optimum adaptation to operating and space conditions in a given plant. To this purpose the system comprises changeover means selectively operable to tilt a conveyance unit to a left or right laterally suspended position or a center-suspended position to thereby permit for instance the radii of curved rail sections to be considerably shortened and particularly achieve a less complicated construction of required switches. In a preferred embodiment the switch is formed as an integral shaped member, so that the continuity of the rail circuit has not to be interrupted for guiding a conveyance unit onto selected branch rails.Type: GrantFiled: February 10, 1987Date of Patent: November 21, 1989Assignee: Veit GmbH & Co.Inventors: Josef Hafner, Werner Bergmeier, Rolf Schonenberger, Matthias Fischer

Patent number: 4823488Abstract: A tunnel finisher includes pneumatic rollers for defining an entrance and an exit for a pneumatic treatment chamber. The tunnel finisher is designed to facilitate the replacement of the envelope of pneumatic rollers. The shaft of the pneumatic roller consists of an upper section fixedly mounted in the tunnel finisher housing, and a one-piece lower section carrying roller-supporting discs, with its upper end releasably coupled to the upper section, and its lower end tiltably supported on a tilt bearing. The pneumatic rollers may thus be dismounted for simple and rapid replacement of the roller envelope, so that down-times of the tunnel finisher may be considerably reduced.Type: GrantFiled: March 29, 1988Date of Patent: April 25, 1989Assignee: Veit GmbH & Co.Inventor: Franz Fottner

Patent number: 4817308Abstract: In a steam pressing station, a fabric piece to be pressed is drawn into a gap between a lower pressing member and an upper pressing member by a conveyor belt movably attached to the lower pressing member. A clamping device is fastened to the conveyor belt for clamping a leading edge of the fabric piece to the belt during an intake stroke thereof. A fabric seam threading device is mounted to the upper pressing member for automatically separating fabric edge strips during the intake stroke of the conveyor belt. The fabric seam threading device includes a separator sword flanked on opposite sides by a pair of seam guides movably mounted for rapid adjustment of the vertical position of the seam guides relative to a frame of the fabric seam threading device and simultaneous rapid adjustment of the separation between the two seams guides.Type: GrantFiled: September 18, 1987Date of Patent: April 4, 1989Assignee: Veit GmbH & Co.Inventors: Fritz M. Patent number: 4779537Abstract: The invention relates to a track rail for a suspension conveyor system particularly for the convenience of materials in the textile industry, having a cross-sectional configuration comprising a pair of roof-shaped converging legs each formed with a roller track surface for one of a pair of track rollers on its upper side, and connected to a carrier rail by an upper carrier web extending in the symmetry plane, said track rollers of said track roller pair defining a derail gap and being mounted in a common yoke with their axes in oblique alignment relative to one another, permitting them to be detached from said track rail by lifting said yoke and tilting it transversely of said track rail. Known track rails are formed as a welded construction composed of continuous steel sections and web sections as the carrier web. They are heavy and permit only the use of center-suspension track roller pairs to travel thereon.Type: GrantFiled: October 7, 1986Date of Patent: October 25, 1988Assignee: Veit GmbH & Co.Inventors: Josef Hafner, Werner Bergmeier, Rolf Schoenenberger

Patent number: 4754884Abstract: A carrier devices is described for an overhead suspension transport system. The device has an angular carrier member with a first arm pivotally mounting a hanger bracket which is adapted to be supported on a rail system by means of rollers. A second arm extends in a substantially upright orientation, at least in its used position, and releasably supports, at vertically spaced positions, a plurality of rods for supporting goods to be conveyed. Each of the rods extends through a bore in the second arm to be lockably retained in the bore by one of its end portions, and it is constructed so that, when it is extracted from the bore, the end portion is extracted first. Each of the bores extends substantially parallel to the first arm.Type: GrantFiled: October 3, 1986Date of Patent: July 5, 1988Assignee: Veit GmbH & Co.Inventors: Rolf Schonenberger, Werner Bergmeier, Johann Roby, Walter Kunze

Patent number: 4704969Abstract: The present invention refers to a transport apparatus in particular for internal, suspension transport systems of the type including a runner rail system and roller sets having rollers interconnected by a depending member. The apparatus has rail-shaped carrier members for supporting, in a suspended condition, transport material on a carrier member support surface. The carrier members are releasably suspendable at both ends from the roller sets, via suspension rods connected to the carrier members at transversely extending pivot axles, and the roller sets rest on the runner rail system. The pivot axles are perpendicularly displaced relative to the longitudinal axis of the carrier member to such an extent that the suspension rods can be folded into contact with a carrier member support surface by pivoting 90.degree.. Clamping grooves are provided on the pivot axles to secure the folded suspension rods. The carrier members include troughs to receive hooks of additional carriers, and toothed racks.Type: GrantFiled: February 21, 1986Date of Patent: November 10, 1987Assignee: Veit GmbH & Co.Inventor: Rolf Schonenberger

Patent number: 4594800Abstract: A steam pressing iron having a steam conduit system designed to improve the elimination of water droplets entrained by the steam. The steam conduit system includes cylindrical recesses to which the steam is supplied in a lateral tangential direction and from which the steam escapes upwards at a central region. As a result, the steam is constrained to follow a circumferentially extending vortex flow path, whereby the water droplets are flung outwards. In a preferred embodiment the wall surface of the recess is extended by a projection rising from the bottom of the recess, so that the eliminated water droplets are rapidly evaporated by contact with the heated material of the pressing iron sole.Type: GrantFiled: July 12, 1985Date of Patent: June 17, 1986Assignee: Veit GmbH & Co.Inventor: Eggert Herrmann
