Patent number: 5038900Abstract: Described is a suspension conveyor system for conveying bobbins (1) to predetermined bobbin positions (RSP) in a spinning mill machine, particularly a ring spinning machine, the suspension conveyor system comprising a conveying path passing along the predetermined bobbin positions (RSP) for the travel therealong of at least one driven conveyor train (4) carrying a plurality of bobbins (1). A transfer mechanism (14, 14') mounted for travelling along the spinning mill machine is provided for the transfer of individual bobbins (1) from the conveying path to the predetermined bobbin positions. In order to achieve a rapid and accurate transfer of bobbins (1) to the ring spinning machine the invention proposes to provide a bobbin carriage (14, 14') adapted to travel parallel to the conveying path (3) in unison with the conveyor train (4) and carrying a separating and guide mechanism (16, 30, 32) for the transfer of an individual bobbin (1) from the conveyor train (4) to a predetermined bobbin position (RSP).Type: GrantFiled: January 2, 1990Date of Patent: August 13, 1991Assignee: Veit Transpo GmbHInventors: Siegfried Durant, Klaus Sporer, Josef Hafner

Patent number: 5014864Abstract: A conveyor system, in particular a suspension conveyor system, comprising at least two transport units adapted to be moved on rollers and interconnected by a disconnectable coupling, the coupling including two identically formed hooks which are each provided with a hook opening, one of said hooks being arranged by an associated base member on one of the transport units to be coupled and the other hook being arranged by an associated base member on the other transport unit to be coupled in such a way that their hook openings face each other, each hook being loaded by a spring and being connected to its associated base member by means of a hub for rotation about an axis coinciding with a centerline of the hub, each hub forming a locking member by, in a coupled condition, being adapted to be engaged by the hook opening of the hook not associated with said transport unit while the hooks, in an uncoupled condition, being adapted to engage each other, and to be rotated by this engagement under tensioning of the sprType: GrantFiled: April 17, 1989Date of Patent: May 14, 1991Assignee: Veit Transpo GmbHInventors: Peter Richter, Josef Hafner, Rolf Schonenberger

Patent number: 5005690Abstract: Known conveyor carriages are provided with code carriers disposed on an outer side of the conveyor carriage. These code carriers are neither protected from damage, nor can they be read in alternative positions of the conveyor carriage and/or of the reading unit. In contrast thereto, if the conveyor carriage is formed as a housing from an electronic circuit of the non-contracting control type acting as the code carrier, the code carrier is protectively housed and can be read or controlled from the desired direction. The conveyor carriage according to the invention is suitable for overhead conveyor systems.Type: GrantFiled: June 1, 1989Date of Patent: April 9, 1991Assignee: Veit Transpo GmbHInventor: Jochen Gonser

Patent number: 5002176Abstract: Suspension transport systems which operate automatically or predominantly automatically and which are used for the transport of spools make use of whole trains on which a plurality of spools is arranged. This, however, means that, e.g., in a ring spinning frame, the whole train will have to be exchanged when the first spool is empty. In order to avoid the resultant waste and in order to provide increased flexibility in the motion of the spools used in such a system of automatized or largely automatized operation, the present suspension transport system uses spools equipped with a travelling device of their own, the travelling device remaining on the spool when the spool is inserted into a processing machine. It is thus possible to handle each spool individually, as well as in a train. The suspension transport system is particlarly suitable for transverse insertion into a ring spinning frame.Type: GrantFiled: May 25, 1989Date of Patent: March 26, 1991Assignee: Veit Transpo GmbHInventors: Karl Lotzer, Josef Hafner

Patent number: 4993326Abstract: A rail switch (1), particularly for an overhead conveyor system, adapted to assume at least two switch positions (I, II, III) for selectively connecting a first rail (2) comprising a runway (2a, 2b) for casters (7a, 7b) of conveyor carriages (6) to the free ends of other rails (3, 4, 5). The switch includes a switch portion (10) carrying a corresponding runway (10a, 10b) and having one of its ends connected to the free end of the first rail (2) by a hinge (9) permitting it to be pivoted about a pivot axis (11) so that the opposite free end of the switch portion (10) may be selectively connected to the free ends of the other rails (3, 4, 5). To ensure substantially smooth passage of the casters (7a, 7b) over the hinge (9), the runway adjacent the hinge (9) is formed by mutually overlapping runway surface portions (17a, 17b, 19a, 19b) on the switch portion (10) and on the first rail (2).Type: GrantFiled: June 1, 1989Date of Patent: February 19, 1991Assignee: Veit Transpo GmbHInventor: Horst Bergemann

Patent number: 4938149Abstract: The switch arrangement allocates first and second connections in groups to each other. A carriage is used which supports a number of connection elements corresponding to the number of second connections per each group. The carriage is movable along the first and the second connections in such fashion that each of the second connections of the group can be connected to the first connection allocated to that group. The switch arrangement is particularly suited for a suspension conveyor system for the feeding of flyer bobbins to ring spinners.Type: GrantFiled: October 4, 1988Date of Patent: July 3, 1990Assignee: Veit Transpo GmbHInventor: Karl Lotzer

Patent number: 4930425Abstract: A suspension conveyor wherein the driving force acts on casters of a carriage, comprises a drive-transmitting assembly having a resiliently deformable drag material with its rear side supported by a backup support. During drive-transmitting operation, the drag material is compressed between the carriage and the drive-transmitting member resulting in the exertion of a perpendicularly oriented force.Type: GrantFiled: August 10, 1988Date of Patent: June 5, 1990Assignee: Veit Transpo GmbHInventors: Martin Ponisch, Josef Hafner, Rolf Schonenberger
