    Abstract: A method of adding a medicament (or other added ingredient) to animal feed pellets is described, in which the medicament is contained in a cohesive gel which is mixed with the feed pellets. The gel coats the pellets substantially homogeneously, and leaves little contamination of the mixing vessel. Preferably, the gel has a viscosity in the range 5,000 to 20,000 cP, and is added to the feed pellets in an amount of between 2 and 40 kg/tonne.

    Abstract: The invention relates to the use of bronopol (bromo-2-nitropropane-1,3-diol), in the treatment of various diseases of aquatic organisms, particularly salmonid fish and their eggs. The diseases which can be treated include thgose caused by fungal infections (such as Saprolegnia parasitica); protozoan infections, whether flagellate (such as Ichthyobodo necatrix) or ciliate (such as Icthyophthirius multifiliis); bacteria (such as Flavobacterium branchiophilum); and myxobacteria (such as Cytophaga psychrophila). Also disclosed is a method of disinfecting fish tanks and/or equipment, using a solution of bronopol.
