Patent number: 12205348Abstract: Rather than randomly selecting neural networks to classify a media file, the conductor can determine which neural network engines (from the conductor ecosystem of neural networks) are the best candidates to classify a particular portion/segment of the media file (e.g., audio file, image file, video files). The best candidate neural network engine(s) can depend on the nature of the input media and the characteristics of the neural network engines. In object recognition and identification, certain neural networks can classify vehicles better than others, while another group of neural networks can classify structures better. The conductor can take out the guess work and construct in real-time an inter-classifier neural network using one or more layers selected from one or more pre-trained neural network, based on attribute(s) of the media file, to classify the media file.Type: GrantFiled: October 10, 2018Date of Patent: January 21, 2025Assignee: VERITONE, INC.Inventors: Peter Nguyen, Karl Schwamb, David Kettler

Patent number: 11790540Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods to detect and track an object across frames of a video. One of the disclosed methods includes: detecting a first group of one or more objects, using a first neural network, in each frame of the video, wherein each detected head of the first group comprises a leading and a trailing edge; grouping the leading and trailing edges of the one or more objects into groups of leading edges and groups of trailing edges based at least on coordinates of the leading and trailing edges; generating a list of no-edge-detect frames by identifying frames of the video missing a group of leading edges or a group of trailing edges; analyzing the no-edge-detect frames in the list of no-edge-detect frames, using an optical image classification engine, to detect a second group of one or more objects in the no-edge-detect frames; and merging the first and second groups of one or more objects to form a merged list of detected objects in the video.Type: GrantFiled: May 1, 2020Date of Patent: October 17, 2023Assignee: VERITONE, INC.Inventors: Chad Steelberg, Lauren Blackburn

Patent number: 11176947Abstract: Methods and systems for classifying a multimedia file using interclass data is disclosed. One of the methods includes receiving, from a first transcription engine, one or more transcription results of one or more audio segments of the multimedia file; identifying a first transcription result for a first audio segment having a low confidence of accuracy; identifying a first image data of the multimedia file corresponding to the first segment; receiving, from an image classification engine trained to classify image data, an image classification result of one or more portions of the first image data in response to requesting the image classification engine to classify the first image data; and selecting, based at least on the image classification result of the one or more portions of the first image data, a second transcription engine to re-classify the first audio segment.Type: GrantFiled: February 22, 2019Date of Patent: November 16, 2021Assignee: VERITONE, INC.Inventors: Chad Steelberg, Peter Nguyen, David Kettler, Karl Schwamb, Yu Zhao

Patent number: 11017780Abstract: Methods and systems for classifying a multimedia file using interclass data is disclosed. One of the methods can use classification results from one or more engines of different classes to select a different engine for the original classification task. For example, given an audio segment with associated metadata and image data, the disclosed interclass method can use the classification results from a topic classification of metadata and/or an image classification result of the image data as inputs for selecting a new transcription engine to transcribe the audio segment.Type: GrantFiled: February 27, 2019Date of Patent: May 25, 2021Assignee: VERITONE, INC.Inventors: Chad Steelberg, Peter Nguyen, David Kettler, Karl Schwamb, Yu Zhao

Patent number: 9959700Abstract: A method of creating and delivering an on-demand audio asset for inclusion in a creative is described. The method includes the steps of accessing a central processing environment, requesting at least one recording of at least a portion of an audio transmission generated from a communication device, generating at least one audio asset, adding the audio asset to a pool of related assets stored in a vault connected to the central processing environment, selecting the generated audio asset and at least one other related asset from the pool of related assets to form a creative, then requesting delivery of the creative to another communication device, and finally delivering the creative to the other communication device. The method is performed in part by a creative composition engine, which is also described. The engine includes a central processing environment having a processor, a digital recorder and a digital asset storage vault.Type: GrantFiled: January 28, 2011Date of Patent: May 1, 2018Assignee: VERITONE, INC.Inventors: Ryan Steelberg, Chad Steelberg

Patent number: 9854277Abstract: The invention is directed to a system and method for the creation and management of advertising inventory utilizing associated metadata. The system generally includes a media streaming system that is used with a video player in connection with the playback of at least one audio/video work. The media streaming system includes a media distribution system that supplies metadata associated with the audio/video work to the video player. The metadata has a hierarchical taxonomy that defines a plurality of attributes associated with one or more objects present in the audio/video work. The system also includes an ad inventory engine that determines available ad inventory based on the metadata and matches the available inventory with advertisement data based on the hierarchical taxonomy.Type: GrantFiled: March 21, 2016Date of Patent: December 26, 2017Assignee: VERITONE, INC.Inventors: Ryan Steelberg, Chad Steelberg
