An exemplary method includes sending a first SMS message to a device with a payload of the first SMS message including machine-readable information. Next, a second SMS message may be received from the device with a payload of the second SMS message including machine-readable information. The first or second SMS message payloads may include, for example, a synchronization message, a call message, call data, or a scheduling message.

The coordinator subsystem is configured to receive the data update message and asynchronously propagate the data conversion through to at least a subset of the global relationship views in the global data.

Abstract: A method performed by one or more computing devices includes determining a relevancy function of viewer tendencies based on set-top box data from a subscription television service and defining a cluster of set-top boxes based on the relevancy function. The method also includes building a tendency profile for the cluster, the tendency profile including predicted actions for viewers within the cluster. The method further includes assigning the set-top box to the cluster and directing a cluster-oriented presentation to a particular set-top box within the cluster.

Abstract: A system includes a set-top box and a server for a subscription television service. The set-top box includes a processor to receive a video-on-demand (VOD) programming suggestion from a user and send, to the server, the VOD programming suggestion. The server includes a processor to receive the VOD programming suggestion, compile the VOD programming suggestion with other VOD programming suggestions from other set-top boxes, and send a notification to the set-top box that the VOD programming suggestion has been added to the list of available VOD programming for the subscription television service.

Abstract: A method may include aggregating information regarding events, where for each event the aggregated information includes an event name, an event time, and an event venue. The method may further include receiving a request for a list of events or a list of venues from a user device and obtaining, from the user device, a profile of a user of the user device. The method may further include generating, based on the profile and the aggregated information regarding events, the generated list of events or the list of venues and sending, to the user device, the list of events or the list of venues.

Abstract: A technique for quickly locating, diagnosing and fixing problems with one or more servers is presented. The technique improves upon prior art techniques by providing a centralized utility by which multiple servers may be viewed and modified. More particularly, the technique allows a user to view, in a consolidated format, features of multiple servers and to modify parameters of such servers from a remote location.

Abstract: A network upgrade tool creates an upgrade project designating a source digital subscriber line access multiplexer (DSLAM), a target DSLAM, and an upgrade type and determines whether the source DSLAM and target DSLAM are eligible for upgrade based on the upgrade type. At least one new digital subscriber line (DSL) path associated with the target DSLAM is identified when the source DSLAM and target DSLAM are eligible for upgrade. Pre-provisionable elements associated with the at least one new DSL path are identified and the identified pre-provisionable elements are provisioned prior to transition from at least one existing DSL path to the at least one new DSL path. A cutover selection is received that indicates that physical network changes associated with the target DSLAM have been made and non-pre-provisioned elements are provisioned following receipt of the cutover selection.

A determination is made whether an action initiated by an authenticated user corresponds to one of a plurality of policies stored in a policy store, wherein the policies relate to whether data to be retrieved from a data source is to be masked. A new policy is generated if no match is found in the policy store. Information associated with the new policy is received, wherein the information is input by the user. The new policy is stored in the policy store.

Abstract: An approach is provided for de-personalizing data. Content from a data source is retrieved in response to a request by a user. A rule for masking data (e.g., web data) is determined, wherein the rule is specified in a profile associated with the user. A search, within the content, for data that satisfy the rule is performed. The data that satisfy the rule is masked. The content is then modified with the masked data for delivery to the user.

Abstract: An approach is provided for de-personalizing data. A request is received from an application for retrieval of data. An end user associated with the request is authenticated. A determination is made whether to mask the data based on the request and the authentication. In response to the determination, a masking algorithm is selected to apply to the data and to output mask data.

Abstract: In one of many possible embodiments, a system includes a content provider subsystem providing media content over a closed media network and an open network. At least a subset of the media content provided over the closed media network is provided over the open network. The system further includes a user access subsystem communicatively connected to the closed media network and the open network. The user access subsystem is configured to access the media content over the closed media network and the open network and to process and provide at least a component of the accessed media content for presentation to a user. Abstract: A method, computer program product, and an apparatus for transferring a telephone call and associated data from an IVR system to a live agent or other system are provided. An exemplary embodiment may include a voice portal of the IVR system requesting an access number for a live agent and sending data associated with the telephone call to a CTI system. The CTI system may request and receive a routing label from a router and then send the data associated with the telephone call and the request for an access number to a call center using the routing label provided by the router. The CTI system may receive the access number from the call center and send the access number back through the IVR system to an exchange carrier for transferring the caller to the call center.
