Abstract: The present invention relates to a storage-stable aqueous or gel-like composition or solution comprising a magnesium compound selected from a magnesium salt or a magnesium complex compound, and L-carnitine, and the use thereof for the preparation of a medicament for supporting metabolism, in particular in muscle tissue, and for supporting muscle structure, and its use as food supplement or in the veterinary sector as animal feed additive, in particular for horses, poultry, pigeons, pigs, cattle, sheep and camels.

Abstract: An orally administered pharmaceutical agent that is particularly suited for iron and magnesium substitutive therapy is disclosed. This drug consists of a combination of one or more pharmaceutically and physiologically compatible iron compounds, one or more pharmaceutically and physiologically compatible magnesium compounds, and, if the magnesium compounds do not contain any chlorine atoms dissociable in aqueous media and saturating the available magnesium valences, the drug further consists of one or more pharmaceutically and physiologically compatible compounds providing chlorine ions in aqueous media. The iron compounds, magnesium compounds and chlorine ion supplying compounds may be mixed with the conventional pharmaceutical solvents and/or thinners and/or auxiliary matter. Unexpectedly, this drug makes it possible to simultaneously administer magnesium or calcium compounds with iron compounds, without thereby causing reduced iron resorption.

Abstract: The invention concerns a novel process for the production of a complex cound comprising an amino-dicarboxylic acid ion component, a bivalent metal ion component, and a halogen ion component, which comprises the step of reacting together in an aqueous medium an amino-dicarboxylic acid compound, a bivalent metal compound, and a halogen compound, the proportions of said compounds being chosen so that one of each of said ion components is comprised in the aqueous medium, the bivalent metal compound being selected from the oxide, hydroxide, carbonate or a halide of the bivalent metal, and the halogen compound being said halide of the bivalent metal or a hydrogen halide. Certain of the complexes are novel and find use in a variety of medical and veterinary fields.
