    Abstract: A device for operating a movable part of a motor vehicle, in particular a sliding roof, is provided with an electric motor for driving the movable part, an adjusting element for setting a desired position for the movable part, an incremental position sensor for detecting the actual position of the sliding roof, a counter in addition to the position sensor, the reading of which counter gives the actual position of the movable part, and an electronic control unit which, depending on the desired position and the counter reading, actuates the electric motor in order to move the movable part into the desired position. The control unit comprises detection means for detecting at least one limit position of the movable part, at which the movable part is unable to travel further, whereby, when said limit position is reached, the control unit resets the counter to a predetermined reading which corresponds to said limit position.

    Abstract: A spoiler roof for a vehicle having a roof opening in its fixed roof comprises a frame including on either side of the roof opening longitudinal guide sections. A water gutter normally positioned under the rear edge of the roof opening extends in transverse direction of the vehicle and over the guide sections. A closure element is displaceable from a closed position in the roof opening upwardly and backwardly to an open position above the fixed roof. An adjusting member on either side of the closure element supports the closure element movably and is displaceably guided in the respective guide section. According to the invention, the water gutter is supported by the frame in a manner backwardly movable such that, when the closure element is moved backwardly, the water gutter automatically moves backwardly.

The lifter (5) is adapted to be driven by a driver means (8), on the one hand in a sliding movement along the guide rail (6) in order to slide the panel (3), and on the other hand in an up and down movement to enable the panel (3) to move between its closed position and an upwardly displaced venting position and between its closed position and a downwardly displaced position prior to the sliding movement of the panel. The lifter (5) includes a set-out lever (9) being at least pivotally in engagement with the panel through a first pivot (13) on the one hand and being pivotally and slidably connected with the guide rail ( 6) by a second pivot (11) on the other hand.

The adjustment mechanism (24) includes an auxiliary lever (29) pivotable relative to lever (25) and which is connected to a track section (6) under panel ( 4) at a point spaced in longitudinal direction from the first guide element (26) when panel (4) is placed in upwardly tilted positions.

The lifter (9) has an upper portion at least pivotally engaging the panel (3) by a transverse pivot shaft (30). At least a part (10, 11) of the lifter (9) is locked against a sliding motion either with respect to the pull-and-push means (4) or with respect to the stationary guide rail (6) by a locking cam (26) during part of the adjusting movement of the lifter (9). According to the invention the locking cam (26) is provided on a separate auxiliary element (13) engaging said part (10, 11) of the lifter (9).

    Abstract: The invention relates to an air guiding mechanism for an open roof construction with a sliding panel, for a vehicle. The mechanism comprises an air guiding strip which can be fitted at the front edge of the roof opening. The air guiding strip is displaced upwardly into an operative position by a spring when the panel is being opened and is brought to a rest position against the pressure of the spring means under the action of this panel when the panel is being closed. A stop determining the operative position of the air guiding strip is provided on a blocking member which is connected to the air guiding strip. Preferably the stop is adjustable, so that the operative position of the air guiding strip can very easily be adjusted to different vehicle roofs.
