The invention consists of a plurality of display monitors coupled to a plurality of servers. In operation, a first server receives a program schedule with associated advertising and general news information over a communication link from at least a second server. At predetermined times according to the program schedule, the first server transmits the advertising and general information to associated display monitors for viewing by passengers in the elevator cabs.
