  • Patent number: 9488728
Abstract: A depth display device for use with a flasher type fish finder system including a primary unit and a transducer assembly. The depth display device includes an enclosure, a microcontroller, a display panel, a transducer port, and an interface cable. The transducer port is configured for connection with the transducer assembly cable. The interface cable terminates at a connector configured for connection with a receptacle of the primary unit. During use, the display device establishes an electrical connection between the primary unit and the transducer cable such that drive signals generated by the primary unit are delivered to the transducer assembly, and return signals generated by the transducer are delivered to the primary unit. The microcontroller samples the transmitter and return signals to determine a depth of a body of water, and operates the display panel to display the determined depth.

  • Patent number: 9408378
Abstract: A fish finder device housing having a watertight shell housing capable of containing an electronic load having a transducer within an interior space, the housing have oppositely opposed extension members, each of the extension members having a keel, the oppositely opposed extension members and keels helping maintain the fish finder device housing and contained transducer in a stable condition such as in a substantially upright vertical position and preventing the housing from rocking back-and-forth and rolling side-to-side during normal fishing conditions including choppy or wavy water, when an angler is fishing in a body of water having a current, or when the angler is pulling the fish finder device housing behind a watercraft during trolling. The fish finder device housing may have an aperture in at least one of the extension members for connecting a fishing line, such as that of a fishing pole, or a line for tethering the fish finder device housing behind a watercraft.

  • Patent number: 5546362
Abstract: A depth finder system of the present invention permits detection of the presence of objects within a body of water located below a body of ice. The depth finding system includes a display unit, an electrically conductive cable, and a transducer. The display unit is locatable on the body of ice adjacent a hole in the body of ice while the electrically conductive cable is electrically connected to the display unit. The transducer is capable of transmitting a sonar sensing wave in the shape of a cone through the body of water to detect the present of objects therein. The transducer system can include a positioning means for selectively fixing the conductive cable relative to the positioning means for selectively controlling the length of cable permitted to extend within a body of water below the body of ice.
