Abstract: A method and apparatus for measuring the length of web in a bridge of a corrugator using an optical sensing device is disclosed. In one embodiment a variable amount of singleface web on a corrugated bridge is calibrated using a measurement of a coded moisture sequence. In another embodiment a single detector signal and an adaptive threshhold is used to detect only rapid changes of moisture content. In still another embodiment a feature of detecting the timing of a signal pattern to the pulse durations of the sprayer is used so that even as the paper speed varies the ratio of short to long remains the same.

Abstract: The invention has an object to provide a bubble jetting apparatus which is simple in structure, can be easily installed in an existing bathtub without its apparatus body being installed in a bathtub, and excellent in use efficiency and various applications, and by which various features such as bubbles, jet streams and bubble jets can be freely selected. The bubble jetting apparatus has a apparatus body comprising a circulating pump 4, a suction tube 5 connected to the suction side of the circulating pump 4, a discharge tube 6 connected to the discharge side of the circulating pump 4, one or more bubble generating portions 7 disposed at appointed positions of the discharge tube 6, a compressor 8 connected to the bubble generating portions 7, and a drive portion 11 connected to the circulating pump 4 and compressor 8.
Abstract: The system and method of the present invention determines the rate of application of liquid glue to corrugated board on a corrugator. A sensor employing the principle of infrared absorption measures the amount of water on the surface of the glue roll upstream of the point of application of the glue to the corrugated board's medium. A second sensor employing the principle of infrared absorption measurers the amount of water on the surface of the glue roll downstream of the point of application of the glue to the corrugated board's medium. Using calibration coefficients the two sensor's output signals are then converted into film thickness measurements. The downstream film thickness measurement is then subtracted from the upstream film thickness measurement to compute the reduction in film thickness caused by the intervening application of the glue to the medium.
Abstract: A ceiling support system for a suspended ceiling is provided that includes resilient clamps for attachment to the undersigned surface of a structural ceiling and interengaging ceiling runners that are shaped to be fitted into and be grasped by such clamps. The engagement edge of the runner is shaped to allow the runner to maintain a bistable positions: a normal, ceiling panel supporting orientation, and a canted orientation for installation of ceiling panels.
Abstract: Methods for obtaining surface expression of a desired protein or polypeptide in Gram-positive host organisms are provided. In addition, vectors useful in such methods as well as Gram-positive host organisms transformed with such vectors are disclosed.
