Patent number: 9348935Abstract: The present disclosure relates to systems and methods for delivering related video content to a user in response to user actions on augmented keywords on a web page. A server may receive from a browser, in response to an indication of a mouse over a keyword currently displayed on a web page of a client, a keyword identified for augmentation via a user interface overlay. The server may identify, responsive to receiving the keyword, a plurality of videos related to the keyword. A content relevancy engine may determine an order of relevance of the plurality of videos to the keyword. The server may transmit to the client, within a predetermined time period from the indication, the user interface overlay to include a selected one or more videos of the plurality of videos with a higher order of relevance.Type: GrantFiled: June 29, 2010Date of Patent: May 24, 2016Assignee: VIBRANT MEDIA, INC.Inventors: Toby Doig, Anna Kassoway

Patent number: 9262766Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to systems and methods for processing advertisement opportunities when a user views content on a mobile device. An agent on a mobile device may contextualize a portion of a page being viewed to identify and send contextual data to a contextualization service. The contextualization service may use the contextual data to select a campaign from a plurality of campaigns to deliver an in line banner advertisement for content being viewed. Based on the selected campaign, the contextualization service may send the agent an advertisement or campaign information for display, such as an inline banner at a natural break in the content being viewed. Instead of having an advertisement predetermined or fixed prior to the display of the content, the present systems and methods may dynamically contextualize the page at the point of viewing based on the content of the page being viewed.Type: GrantFiled: August 31, 2011Date of Patent: February 16, 2016Assignee: VIBRANT MEDIA, INC.Inventors: Daniel Mark Mason, Alistair Russell

Patent number: 9128909Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure include methods (and corresponding systems and computer program products) that augment visual elements in documents with rich media content and provide the rich media content based on user interaction with the augmented visual elements in the documents. The disclosed embodiments analyze a document for qualified visual elements. The disclosed embodiments determine keywords associated with the visual element, generate an association of the visual element and the keywords, and embed the association in a corresponding augmented document. When a user reviews the augmented document in a client system and moves a pointer over the augmented visual element, a piece of rich media content related to the keywords are transmitted to the client system to be displayed as an overlay in close proximity to the visual element where the mouse-over occurred.Type: GrantFiled: May 5, 2014Date of Patent: September 8, 2015Assignee: VIBRANT MEDIA, INC.Inventor: Richard Brindley

Patent number: 9002895Abstract: The present disclosure relates to systems and methods for creating, via a development tool, a unit type for display on a web page in response to a keyword on the web page. A development tool may identify a unit type template for creating a unit type. The unit type may comprise a tooltip for augmenting a keyword on a web page. A user may select, via the development tool, a media block component to add to the unit type. The user may place the media block component on a layout of the unit type. The development tool may generate script code to define the layout of the unit type as a set of cells and rows within a predetermined sized container. The media block component may be placed in a cell and a row of the set of cells and rows. The script code may provide execution direction for rendering media of the media block component while displaying the unit type.Type: GrantFiled: June 29, 2010Date of Patent: April 7, 2015Assignee: Vibrant Media, Inc.Inventors: Toby Doig, Douglas DeMarco, Robert Hammond

Publication number: 20140244382Abstract: A system and a method are disclosed for detecting and preventing fraud in online advertising environments. In one embodiment, the system and process include a publisher with a web page with which an advertisement set and a unique request identifier are sent to a user browser when the user requests the web page. The unique request identifier is unique, publisher specific, advertisement specific, for a single instance. A database keeps track of the unique request identifier so that when a user “clicks” on a link to access an advertiser's web site, the unique request identifier associated with the advertisement can be checked against the unique request identifier in the database to determine whether the “click” was one that may be non-fraudulent or valid.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 5, 2014Publication date: August 28, 2014Applicant: Vibrant Media, Inc.Inventors: Richard Brindley, Toby Doig

Publication number: 20140074622Abstract: The present solution provides a configurable, dynamic and flexible mechanism to define and use pixel rules to identity and select campaigns for the user based on the user's pixel history as well as other behavior data. The pixel rules can be configured to identify one or more mandatory pixels that have to be present or tracked for the user in order to include or exclude a campaign in a campaign selection process. The pixel rules can be configured to identify weighted pixels that have to be present or tracked for the user in order to include or exclude a campaign in a campaign selection process. The pixel rules may identify any combination of mandatory and weighted pixel rules. These pixel rules may be configured via a user interface of a development tool and during run-time campaign management applied to the user pixel history to select and deliver campaigns.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 4, 2013Publication date: March 13, 2014Applicant: Vibrant Media, Inc.Inventors: Toby Doig, Craig Gooding

Patent number: 8122014Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure include methods (and corresponding systems and computer program products) that augment content in web pages with resources and provide the resources based on user interaction with the augmented content in the web pages. The disclosed embodiments analyzes a web page to identify a keyword, locates a piece of reference data matching the identified keyword, generates an association of the located piece of reference data and the keyword, and embeds the association in an augmented web page. Upon receiving a request from a client computer corresponding to a pointer being positioned over the keyword in the augmented web page, the disclosed embodiments determines relevant resources, and transmits the resources to the client computer for display in a multi-layered dialog box, such that a viewer can access the plurality of resources by interacting with the multi-layered dialog box without leaving the augmented web page.Type: GrantFiled: September 18, 2008Date of Patent: February 21, 2012Assignee: Vibrant Media, Inc.Inventors: Richard Brindley, Craig Allen Gooding, Anna Kassoway
