Patents Assigned to Vibro/Dynamics Corporation
  • Patent number: 7077250
Abstract: A viscous damper for a machinery mount having a damping member disposed intermediate a top support engageable with at least a portion of a load and a bottom plate disposed beneath the support and spaced therefrom to thereby decrease or deaden vibrations. The damper includes a receptacle for vertical disposition, which is closed at the bottom and opened at the top, and is adaptable for containing a viscous fluid. A plunger of smaller lateral dimensions is arranged concentrically and co-axially within the receptacle, and depends downwardly from the horizontally disposed support, and is of such a longitudinal dimension as to be spaced from the closed bottom of the receptacle so as to be submerged partially in the viscous fluid and is therefore free to move vertically. A perforated plate is affixed at the bottom of the plunger, and provides fluid communication between the receptacle and the plunger.

  • Patent number: 4930741
Abstract: An adjustable mounting is provided for use between the foot of a machine and the floor where the machine is located, as well as a method for adjusting the height of the foot. The mounting comprises a bearing member and a compressible cushion member which supports the bearing member, as well as an adjustable member which maintains the bearing member in spaced relation with the supporting member. A lifting member is interposed between the bearing member and the supporting member and is extendable to move the supporting member away from the bearing member without reducing the deflection of the cushion member. The portion of the adjustable member between the bearing member and the supporting member may be readily altered while the load of the machine is borne by the lifting member.

  • Patent number: 4135392
Abstract: A system of vibration-absorbing, height-adjustable, force-sensing components, adapted to be incorporated in support members of a unit of industrial equipment to enable precise alignment and balancing of such equipment, to minimize noise generated thereby and to achieve greater precision and efficiency by fine tuning the performance thereof. The system has cooperating load indicating means which provide for read-out of forces exerted on the respective support members. Additionally, the system may include means for indicating power consumption during operation. When the equipment is at rest, static load forces are indicated. Applicant's system permits preliminary adjustment for balancing load distribution when the equipment is at rest. Then, during operation, further adjustments may be made, based upon monitoring of read-outs of dynamic and enertia forces and power consumption, in order to obtain optimum stability, alignment, damping of vibration and shock, and noise control.

  • Patent number: 4047427
Abstract: A vibration isolator of the type used for mounting industrial equipment, having the capability of measuring forces exerted upon the isolator to adjust the support provided by each of the isolators upon which the equipment is mounted so as to provide the most suitable distribution of support and to reduce the transmission of dynamic forces created by the operation of the equipment. The isolator comprises a resilient base, a bearing plate on the base and a sensing device cooperating therewith, with or without means for attaching the isolator to the equipment. A force applied to the isolator exerts pressure on the bearing plate which is transmitted therethrough to the resilient base causing each of them to experience some deformation. The sensing device detects the pressure or deformation caused by the force applied to the isolator and generates a signal corresponding to said force.
