Abstract: A mowing device includes at least a pair of cooperative rotary cutting mechanisms. Each cutting mechanism comprises a driven carrier and at least one cutter pivotally connected thereto and projecting radially therefrom. Mounted below each carrier is a cutting plate having a cutting edge above which the associated cutter sweeps. The cutting edge of the cutter normally lies along a line which defines an acute angle with at least portions of the cutting edge of the cutting plate so as to effect a scissors action therewith, and which line also is angularly offset by more than 90.degree. with respect to a line passing through the center of gravity of the cutter and the axis of rotation of the carrier.

Abstract: The invention relates to a device for spreading distributable material, more particularly, fertilizer in granular or powdery form, said device comprising a hopper having at least one outlet port and a spreading member connected herewith and a dosing member to be adjusted for defining the passage of each outlet port, a control-mechanism moving the dosing member into a position in which the outlet port is closed or into the adjusted position; the invention has for its object to spread said material accurately and provides screw means operative between the dosing member and the control-mechanism for very sensitive adjustment said dosing member.

Abstract: Apparatus is disclosed for baling a crop. The crop is fed into the top of a holder and a pair of compressing members are alternately actuated to compress the crop as it is progressively accumulated. Each member compresses all of the crop underlying it and maintains a predetermined compression until after the other member comes into operation. The compression members are in the form of rakes having tines which are projected and withdrawn through opposite side walls of the holder.
