Abstract: A format of data recorded in a DVD-Audio disc is composed of an audio manager (AMG) and a plurality of audio title sets (ATSs) following the AMG. A plurality of audio packs are arranged in each ATS. An audio signal indicating a musical composition is encoded to audio data in a signal processing circuit, and the audio data is arranged in the audio packs. The audio data of the audio packs are formatted in a DVD formatting unit with the AMG to be arranged in the ATSs following the AMG. Also, copyright information is arranged in an area of a control data block placed in a read-in area of the DVD-Audio disc. Table-of-contents (TOC) information indicating a top address of the audio data is automatically produced and is arranged in an empty area of the control data block reserved for the copyright information, in an area of the audio packs, in an area of the AMG or in an area of the ATSs.
Abstract: Plural program information and a BCA (Burst Cutting Area) number of the optical disc 100 is previously recorded in the optical disc 100. A drive ID is stored in the nonvolatile memory 104a of the reproduction apparatus 104. A user of the reproduction apparatus 104 notifies the BCA number, the drive ID, and a number of preferred program information to the software house (software supplier) 110 on the condition that the user pays for the reproduction of the preferred program information recorded in the optical disc 100. The software house 110 notifies a cipher key to the reproduction apparatus 104 or the user. A title key is calculated in the reproduction apparatus 104 in accordance with the BCA number, the drive ID, and the cipher key. The preferred information recorded in the optical disc 100 is permitted to be reproduced by using the title key.
Abstract: This invention provides an optical disk effective in both precision and productivity, and to a process for the manufacture thereof. The optical disk allows reading of the information recorded on each information-recording surface of the two or more information-recording surfaces by varying the focal position of a playback laser beam incident on and passing through said light transmitting substrate; and the optical disk is provided with a transparent layer that is laminated onto the light transmitting substrate and is constituted of a thermoplastic resin sheet of uniform thickness and the transparent layer has an information-recording surface other than the surface of said light transmitting substrate formed thereon.

Abstract: A superimposing video signal represents a superimposing shape. The superimposing video signal and a background video signal are mixed at a varible mixing rate. During an interval where the superimposing video signal corresponds to an edge of the superimposing shape, the mixing rate is varied. The superimposing video signal may be stored in a memory. The mixing rate may be varied in accordance with a mixing rate signal stored in a memory.
