    Abstract: A protective helmet has a shell, a liner, and a control device that includes a receiver. A recess is formed in an outer surface of the liner adjacent a rear edge of the shell, to receive the control device. A battery operably connected with the control device, and side recesses formed in the outer surface of the liner adjacent the side edges of the shell contain speakers electronically connected to the control device. The control device streams music from the portable electronic device to the speakers.
