Abstract: A trough-like concentrator having a reflective surface contoured to image the sun at a linear focus. The reflective surface is supported by a structural tube having plural ribs.A microcomputer is programmed to exclusively aim the concentrator at the sun.A stationary vacuum-insulated linear solar energy receiver is positioned at the focus of the concentrator, with heat-transfer fluid entering at one end of the receiver and leaving at the other end.
