Each transfer stack region includes a rail mounted gantry (RMG) defining a three-dimensional operating region. At least one rail line and at least one row of shipping containers are maintained in the operating region. An elevated platform is disposed at one end of the operating region at an upper portion thereof. Attribute sensing equipment is mounted on the elevated platform.
