  • Patent number: 11519877
Abstract: Devices and methods for performing dielectrophoresis are described. The devices contain sample channel which is separated by physical barriers from electrode channels which receive electrodes. The devices and methods may be used for the separation and analysis of particles in solution, including the separation and isolation of cells of a specific type. As the electrodes do not make contact with the sample, electrode fouling is avoided and sample integrity is better maintained.

  • Publication number: 20220074772
Abstract: A method of thermodynamic assessment of flow through a turbomachine having a compressor, comprising: receiving sensor readings from a plurality of acoustic sensors located about an intake for the turbomachine upstream of the compressor; and receiving pressure and stagnation temperature readings for the flow into the intake. A static temperature is determined for the flow into the intake and an average velocity of the flow over a flow area of the intake upstream of the compressor using the acoustic sensor readings. A mass flow rate of the flow through the intake is determined using the average velocity of the flow and the stagnation pressure.

  • Patent number: 10873412
Abstract: System and method for using a network with base stations to optimally or near-optimally schedule radio resources among the users are disclosed. In certain embodiments the system and method are designed to operate in real-time (such as but not limited to 100 ?s) to schedule radio resources in a 5G NR network by solving for an optimal or near-optimal solution to scheduling problem by decomposing it into a number of small and independent sub-problems, selecting a subset of sub-problems and fitting them into a number of parallel processing cores from one or multiple many-core computing devices, and solving for an optimal or near-optimal solution through parallel processing within approximately 100 ?s. In other embodiments, the sub-problems are constructed to have a similar mathematical structure. In yet other embodiments, the sub-problems are constructed to each be solved within approximately 10 s of ?s.

  • Patent number: 9276480
Abstract: Pulse width modulation is provided for controlling a resonant power converter, particularly for dimming of light emitting diode arrays without loss of efficiency. Dynamic oscillation due to the beginning of a pulse width modulated pulse burst is limited by shortening of the first and/or last pulse of a pulse bust such that the first pulse of a subsequent pulse burst close to or to connect with a full load steady-state voltage/current trajectory of the power converter. Pulse shortening made be made substantially exact to virtually eliminate dynamic oscillation but substantial reduction in dynamic oscillation is provided if inexact or even performed randomly.
