Print head(s) can be pre-aligned and fine-tuned to alignment adapter(s) even while the printing system is still in print production. Abstract: Methods and systems for optimizing a layout of a document constructed based on a template document, where the template document comprises a plurality of individually-specified components including one or more individually specified user-content components configured to receive user content from a user of the template document. An energy model of the layout of the user-content components in the user document is generated based on original positions and sizes of the user-content components in the template document. Positions of corresponding components in the user document are automatically adjusted to minimize the energy of the user-content component layout in the user document.

The method for dynamically replicating one or more parent nodes on a network in response to a user request by a policy manager. The policy manager transmits the user request to an event module. The event module transmits the user request to a data consistency module, wherein the data consistency module maintains integrity of the data on the parent node. The event system communicates with a resource management module to ensure proper utilization of network resources, and transmits the routing request to a request routing module for appropriately balancing the network load. The request routing module is capable of providing optimal routing based on the network resources.

Abstract: Techniques for automatically adding special effects to an image to be overlaid on a low-contrast background are presented. A stroke or an intervening layer of a color contrasting with the background color is automatically added to provide a contrasting color around the edges of visible image content in an image container of an electronic document. The technique may be applied to entire libraries of images to generate variant images that are visually perceptible when displayed or printed on low-contrast background colors.

Address information for that mail piece is obtained from the identified mailing list and printed on the mail piece by the variable printing system.

Abstract: Computer-implemented product design creation system and method for quickly developing a product design having desirable component elements. Multiple candidate product designs are simultaneously displayed for review. Controls are provided allowing a reviewer to enter a preference level for individual component elements of each of the displayed designs. A new set of candidate designs is created based on the entered preference levels. The new candidate designs are displayed for further review and further preference level selection.
