Patents Assigned to Visteon Automotive Systems
  • Patent number: 7040449
Abstract: Steering gearbox mechanism for automotive vehicles that allows feeding the hydraulic fluid control mechanism of said steering mechanism with pressurized hydraulic fluid, depending on the vehicle's working conditions. Thus, when the vehicle is stopped or running at a very low speed, the hydraulic fluid is sent to the steering mechanism for assistance. At this condition, the user may carry out the driving maneuvers effortlessly. Moreover, when the vehicle is running at high speeds, the assistance is disconnected, by means of deviating the pressurized fluid back to the fluid reservoir, allowing the engine to continue impelling the pump but without assisting the steering mechanism since at those speeds the user can carry out any maneuver without any effort.

  • Patent number: 6793121
Abstract: An automobile climate control system has a coolant dispersing device to allow coolant to flow. A heat exchanger cools the coolant. A manifold block allows the coolant to transfer between the coolant dispersing device and the heat exchanger. The manifold block is in communication with the heat exchanger and the coolant dispersing device. At least one separately formed clasp is fixedly mounted to the manifold block. The at least one clasp has separate legs to fixedly mount the at least one clasp to the heat exchanger. The at least one clasp has a first flange member. A first end of the first flange member is fixedly mounted to an aperture in the manifold block.

  • Publication number: 20020195292
Abstract: A steering gearbox mechanism for automotive vehicles which allows the connection and disconnection of the steering gearbox assistance mechanism (hydraulic, electric or the like), depending on the vehicle working conditions. Thus, when the vehicle is stopped or circulating at a very low speed, the assistance mechanism assists the steering mechanism allowing the user to carry out the maneuver effortlessly, and when the vehicle circulates at a higher speed, the assistance is disconnected, and the vehicle's engine does not impel the pump since the user can carry out any maneuver without any effort. Summing up, the present invention is referred to a power steering gearbox mechanism for vehicles, comprising an assisted rack bar-and-pinion steering mechanism characterized by comprising a control means that detects the vehicle's working condition, and at a certain speed is capable of sending a signal for disconnecting the steering assistance.
