Abstract: A line of prints has passed through a laminating machine so that a laminating film has been applied to both surfaces of the line. To enable individual prints to be torn off the laminating film is indented or perforated near to an edge of the line of prints. Tearing is then effected from the perforated edge to the other edge. The indentation or perforation of both films occurs downstream of their respective supply rolls.

Abstract: A pressure gauge where a main wheel (11) is rotated to raise and lower the upper one of two horizontal feed rollers of a laminating machine so that the pressure applied by the rollers is the same in successive operations. A mark on an indexing wheel (14), which rotates with the main wheel (11), is brought into alignment with a mark on the casing (10) of the machine. The outer ring (14) of the indexing wheel is manually rotatable relative to its inner ring (13), but is held in frictional contact with the main wheel (11) by compression springs (17).

Abstract: Means (17, 22, 23, 24, 25) is provided for intermittently lifting a stack (13) of paper so that the topmost sheet is captured by the suction of a traction device (15) and carried forward by the endless belt of the latter to the input end (21) of a laminating machine. Before the trailing end of the captured sheet has left the traction device (15) the lifting means again lifts the stack (13) so that the next sheet is captured in an overlapping relation to the first.
