    Abstract: The presently disclosed subject matter is directed to methods, systems, and computer-readable storage media for location, mobile, and user participating-based identity verification for the purposes of risk management. In one embodiment, the method, system, and computer-readable storage media includes receiving user data, receiving verification data, and verifying the identity of a user based on the user data and the verification request data. The user data may include location data and/or identity data, and the user data may be received from a mobile device. The identity data may include biometric data regarding the user. The method, system, and computer-readable storage media may include comparing the user data to the verification request data. The method, system, and computer-readable storage media may also include performing an action based on the results of the verification wherein the action is authorizing a payment.

A user of a mobile personal trusted device sets user preferences that define the user's preferred parameters for conducting financial transactions. A merchant sets merchant preferences that define the merchant's preferred parameters for conducting financial transactions. When a financial transaction is initiated, a user preference and a merchant preferences are accessed. A negotiated preference is generated that accommodates both the user preference and the merchant preference. If the user preference and the merchant preference are not mutually exclusive, the negotiated preference attempts to satisfy both preferences. If the user preference and the merchant preference are mutually exclusive, the negotiated preference satisfies at least one of the two preferences based on which of the two preferences has a higher priority. The financial transaction is conducted based on the negotiated preference.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer readable media for over the air provisioning of soft cards on devices with wireless communications capabilities are disclosed. According to one method, a soft card provisioning application is instantiated on a device with wireless communications capabilities. A card number for a soft card desired to be provisioned on the device is obtained from a user of the device. An issuer identification number retrieved from the card number is communicated to a provisioning configuration server over an air interface. A provisioning issuer server network address is obtained from the provisioning configuration server based on the issuer identification number. The provisioning information server is connected to, and card-issuer-specific challenge information is obtained therefrom. The challenges are presented to the user, and the user's responses to the challenges are received. A connection is made to the provisioning issuer server corresponding to the network address.

In response to detecting the error, an error flag is set in an error register to indicate the presence of noise in the signal portion. The error register is repeatedly polled in order to detect the setting of the error flag. In response to detecting the setting of the error flag, a command to eliminate the signal portion is issued.

    Abstract: An adaptor in accordance with the present invention allows a conventional magnetic stripe card POS reader to receive information from contact-based or wireless sources while maintaining the concurrent ability of the reader to interact with a magnetic stripe card. In accordance with one embodiment of the present invention, the adaptor includes an inductor capable of generating a magnetic field of sufficient power to couple with a head of a magnetic stripe card reader through the housing of the reader device. In this manner, the adaptor can be positioned external to the reader device, leaving the slot of the reader accessible for conventional interactions with magnetic stripe cards. Selective inductive communication with individual heads of the reader device may exploit their differing sensitivity to external magnetic fields generated by the adaptor.
