Abstract: A method and an apparatus for applying a code to textile webs in the form of detectable dots of iron-containing paste. The moving textile web (1) is passed over an iron-containing paste (3) placed on a movable support (2). A series of dots is formed on the textile web by passing the textile web (1) briefly into the paste (3) by means of vertically movable cogs (5) disposed above the textile web (1).
Abstract: A process for applying exactly metered small quantities of liquid to web material, such as textile. The web material is passed through the nip of a pair of rollers. One of the rollers is provided with a film of liquid by means of an applicator roller which is partly immersed in a liquid bath and which rotates in contact with it. The applicator roller has a surface provided with raised portions and recesses, which makes it possible to apply the liquid in small, reproducible dosage.
Abstract: A process for controlling the position of fibrous webs to be printed by applying thereon a ferromagnetic printing paste in the form of very small dots which are not visible or palpable, which paste consists of at least 85% by weight, based on the total solid content, of a finely divided ferromagnetic material and furthermore of a cellulose ester and a solvent having a boiling point above 130.degree. C.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for applying viscous liquid marking substance in which the marking substance is applied in small amounts at spaced-apart locations to a moving web from the open mouth of a narrow channel which intermittently contacts the web, the marking substance passing from a supply thereof into and filling the channel and being collected there during the intervals between successive contacts of the channel mouth with the web.
