  • Patent number: 11265309
Abstract: Disclosed are various approaches for workflow service back end integration. In some examples, an event is detected. The event is associated with an enterprise. A workflow action to perform is identified based on event. A user account is identified using at least one of the workflow action and the event. A command to present the workflow action is transmitted to a client device. A user indication to perform the workflow action is identified. Authentication data for the network service is identified based on a single sign-on (SSO) token associated with the user account. The workflow action is automatically performed using the network service. An authentication with the network service is completed based on the authentication data.

  • Patent number: 11262960
Abstract: A varied least recently used (VLRU) caching technique is used to enable print data to be available at a cache of a client for printing, even after an agent performs a deletion of a hash value for the print data at a cache of the agent. The deletion of the print data (cached at the cache of the client) is postponed at the client device via the use of a waiting list, so that the cached print data can be printed at a physical printer of the client, in response to receiving a delayed print job from the agent that specifies the hash value as a result of a deduplication process performed by the agent.

  • Patent number: 11263252
Abstract: Embodiments described herein are related to cloning a volume in a file system. In some embodiments, for each index node representing a file or directory in the volume, the index node is updated to include a back pointer to each file or directory which points to the index node in the volume. In some embodiments, a copy-on-write operation is performed in order to generate a clone of the volume's root node. In certain embodiments, upon determining that a file or directory of the clone has been modified, a new index node is generated representing the file or directory by copying an index node representing a corresponding file or directory of the volume. In some embodiments, each file or directory which should point to the new index node in the clone is identified based on one or more back pointers and updated to point to the new index node.

  • Patent number: 11262919
Abstract: Client data is structured as a set of data blocks. A first subset of data blocks is stored on a current segment of the disks. A second subset of data blocks is stored on a previous segment. A request to clean client data is received, including a request to update the current segment to include the second subset of data blocks. The second subset of data blocks is accessed and transmitted from a lower layer to a higher system layer. Parity data is generated at the higher layer. The parity data is transmitted to the lower layer. The lower layer updates second mapping data. In the updated mapping of the second mapping data, each local address that references a data block of the second subset of data blocks is included in the current segment of the plurality of disks. The lower layer writes the parity data in the current segment.

  • Patent number: 11263146
Abstract: Systems for accessing client data is described. A request to access a first data block is received. The request indicates a first logical address referencing the first data block. First mapping data is employed to identify a first physical addresses corresponding to the first logical addresses. The first mapping data encodes a first LOM transaction ID and candidate local addresses. The first mapping data is employed to identify the candidate local address and the first LOM transaction ID. A usage table is employed to determine the current status of the first LOM transaction ID. The candidate local address is employed to access the first data block. Second mapping data is employed to identify an updated local address of the set of local addresses. The updated local address currently references the first data block. The updated local address is employed to access the first data block.

  • Patent number: 11263019
Abstract: A method for generating boot tables for a device having access to device information. It is determined whether there exists at least one system boot table stored in a memory. If it is determined that a system boot table does not exist, the device information is retrieved, and the device information is converted to at least one boot table. The converting includes generating a first boot table by populating the first boot table with information of components of the device that have a correspondence to a computer system boot information standard. The generating also includes generating a second boot table for another component of the device that does not have a correspondence to the computer system boot information standard, by creating an entry in the second boot table that is populated with an identifier used to find a compatible component defined in the computer system boot standard.

  • Patent number: 11263122
Abstract: The disclosure provides an approach for implementing fine grain data coherency of a memory region shared by an application within a virtual machine and a compute accelerator. The approach includes locating within a compute kernel a data write instruction to the shared memory region, and modifying the compute kernel to add a halting point after the data write instruction. The approach further includes configuring a virtualization system on which the virtual machine runs to set a value of a halt variable to true at an interval or in response to an occurrence of an event, wherein setting the halt variable to true causes the compute kernel to suspend execution at the conditional halting point.

  • Publication number: 20220058072
Abstract: The current document is directed to methods and systems that employ call traces collected by one or more call-trace services to generate call-trace-classification rules to facilitate root-cause analysis of distributed-application operational problems and failures. In a described implementation, a set of automatically labeled call traces is partitioned by the generated call-trace-classification rules. Call-trace-classification-rule generation is constrained to produce relatively simple rules with greater-than-threshold confidences and coverages. The call-trace-classification rules may point to particular services and service failures, which provides useful information to distributed-application and distributed-computer-system managers and administrators attempting to diagnose operational problems and failures that arise during execution of distributed applications within distributed computer systems.

  • Publication number: 20220058043
Abstract: The present disclosure is related to methods, systems, and machine-readable media for log-structured file system management operations. An aggregate amount of over-provisioned computing resources assigned to a plurality of log-structured file system (LFS) objects that are allocated for performance of memory management operations associated with a virtual storage area network (vSAN) can be determined. A subset of LFS objects that are candidates for performance of a particular memory management operation based on an amount of over-provisioned computing resources consumed by one or more LFS objects among the plurality of LFS objects exceeding a resource consumption threshold associated with the determined amount of over-provisioned computing resources assigned to the plurality of LFS objects can be selected. The particular memory management operation using one or more of the candidate LFS objects can be performed.
