Abstract: The invention relates to an exhaust gas system (10) for an internal combustion engine (12), having an exhaust gas path which includes at least in sections two parallel exhaust gas lines (34, 36), namely a main line (34) and an auxiliary line (36), an adsorber (46) for reversible sorption of unburnt hydrocarbons (HC) and/or nitrogen oxides (NOx) being situated in the auxiliary line (36); having an adjusting means (48) for selectively guiding an exhaust gas flow into the main line (34) and/or into the auxiliary line (36) and having a main catalytic converter (44) situated downstream from the parallel exhaust gas lines (33, 36). An exhaust gas flow-conducting, gas-permeable element (58) is provided upstream from the adsorber (46), which separates the auxiliary line (36) from the remaining exhaust gas flow-conducting areas. In addition, the adsorber (46) may also be equipped with a particle filtering function and/or a catalytic function.

Abstract: A method for determining a position of a receiver is provided. The method includes the emission of at least one electromagnetic field by a respective transmitter, an amplitude of the at least one electromagnetic field rotating respectively with respect to the respective transmitter. The method includes the measurement of the at least one electromagnetic field by the receiver and the determination of a differential phase. The method further includes the determination of the position based on the at least one differential phase.
Abstract: The invention relates to a car body structure, especially a substructure, for a motor vehicle, with beam components that create defined load paths in collision situations. According to the invention, the beam components situated in the area of at least one defined load path—especially a head-on collision load path and/or a side collision load path and/or a rear-end collision load path—at least partially comprise high-strength beam components, preferably completely through-hardened or at least partially through-hardened high-strength beam components, made out of a hot-worked or press-hardened steel sheet, said beam components being joined to each other directly or indirectly, preferably directly, especially being joined to each other positively or non-positively and/or by bonding.

Abstract: An internal combustion engine has a working cylinder with two intake valves and two exhaust valves assigned thereto. A first camshaft and a second camshaft each actuate a respective one of the intake valves and a respective one of the exhaust valves. The first camshaft is a variable camshaft with an adjuster for adjusting valve control times and includes an outer shaft, which is a hollow shaft, and an inner shaft, which is disposed within the outer shaft. The outer shaft as well as the inner shaft are rotatable by the adjuster and are rotatable relative to one another by the adjuster such that relative positions of given cams controlling given ones of the intake and exhaust valves are changeable. The second camshaft is driven by a crankshaft of the internal combustion engine and is configured as a fixed camshaft.
Abstract: A vehicle having an electric drive and having a sound transducer is provided. The vehicle has a sound generator for substantially simultaneously emitting a first noise having increasing frequency and decreasing loudness, a second noise having increasing frequency and increasing loudness, and at least a third noise having increasing frequency by means of the sound transducer, in particular during increasing rotational speed of the electric drive.
Abstract: In a navigation system for a motor vehicle, the navigation system includes an off-board navigation system that is spatially separate from the motor vehicle, a wireless communication connection between the off-board navigation system and the motor vehicle to transmit a suggested route for the motor vehicle and/or a map display of the environment of the motor vehicle from the off-board navigation system to the motor vehicle, and a man-machine interface arranged in the motor vehicle, to output the suggested route or the map display to an operator of the motor vehicle, in connection or together with an item of additional information, the provision of the additional information being accessible to a third party.

Abstract: A vehicle control device for supplementing/changing the functionality of a vehicle control device. A vehicle control device is created having at least one processor, a memory coupled to the processor, a plurality of application modules, and at least one communication interface for interchanging data with other vehicle control devices or an external vehicle device. Also disclosed is a method for supplementing/changing the functionality of a vehicle control device.
Abstract: A method and a device for maneuvering a combination of a towing vehicle and a trailer, wherein the trailer is connected to the towing vehicle by a non-steerable tow-bar, and the towing vehicle observes the rear surroundings, including the trailer, by a rear-view camera. The method includes the steps: a) determining the actual articulation of the trailer relative to the towing vehicle; b) determining the length of the tow-bar and the maximum articulation of the trailer; c) inputting the intended articulation of the trailer; d) reversing the towing vehicle with at least active steering support until the intended articulation of the trailer is reached; e) fixing the direction of travel predetermined by the intended articulation; f) maneuvering the towing vehicle with at least active steering support while maintaining the predetermined direction of travel until an eventual parking position is reached.

Abstract: A method and device for activating and deactivating a valet parking function for a motor vehicle is provided. An activated valet parking function prevents access to one or more lockable areas in the motor vehicle. The method including the steps of checking whether a freely operable control element has been actuated. If the actuation of a control element has been detected, the valet parking function is activated to prevent exclusively the access to the lockable area in the motor vehicle, particularly to a trunk.
Abstract: A method for operating an operator control system having a graphical display unit and a touch-sensitive interface, wherein coordinates from information presented on the display unit are associated with coordinates of the touch-sensitive interface. Also disclosed is an operator control system for a vehicle having a graphical display unit that presents a piece of information for a user; a touch-sensitive interface that detects a touch by the user; and a control unit coupled to the display unit and the touch-sensitive interface, the control unit controlling presentation of at least one operator control panel on the display unit.
Abstract: A switchable coupling with a coupling system between a driving element and an output element is provided. The switchable coupling includes an actuator, an elastic actuating element and a switching element movable between starting, central and end positions. In the central position the switchable coupling has a different state (open or closed) than in the starting position. The switchable coupling further includes a bolt constrained between first and second bolt stops. Axial movement of the switching element causes operative surfaces connected to the switching element or the bolt to engage with elements on other of the switching element and the bolt, such that the bolt rotates relative to the switching element. The bolt alternately moves relative to the switching element into a first relative position blocking switching element movement in the central position, and into a second relative position permitting movement of the switching element toward the starting position.
