Abstract: Methods and systems for replaying buffered audio of a telephone call are provided herein. In some embodiments, a method for replaying buffered audio of a telephone call, comprises buffering audio data associated with a telephone call when a quality of an established data connection decreases below a first threshold quality measure; playing the buffered audio data from the buffer; determining the quality of the established data connection exceeds a second threshold quality measure; and replaying the audio data from the buffer, wherein replaying the audio comprises modifying the playback rate of the buffered audio data during playback.

Abstract: A method of providing automatically updated content a messaging session is disclosed. The method comprising exchanging, via a user interface of a messaging system on a first user device, messages with one or more other user devices in the messaging session, wherein the user interface includes a first region for exchanging messages; initiating display of a plurality of selectable messaging objects that represent supplementary content that is periodically updated during the messaging session; receiving a first user selection of one of the displayed messaging objects to include during the messaging session; and embedding the supplementary content associated with the selected messaging object within the messaging session.

Abstract: An IP telephony system allows a user to register a telephony device that receives its native telephony service from a different telephony service provider as an extension telephone. The user can then place calls through the IP telephony system using the extension telephone. Such calls may or may not be established using the extension telephone's native telephony service provider.

Abstract: Method and system for group calling in an IP-based communication system includes receiving an administrator identifier, receiving one or more invitee identifiers, initiating a first connection from a central location and initiating at least one or more second connections from the central location to join an administrator and at least one invitee. The administrator identifier and one or more invitee identifiers can be a telephone number or other identifiers associated with the communication system. To establish the group call, the administrator identifier and one or more invitee identifiers are received from the administrator. The first connection initiation is to the administrator and the second or more connection initiations are to the at least one invitee. System for making a group call includes a user interface adapted for use by the administrator, a database manager, a database, a load balancer and a group calling pool adapted for SIP-based group call setup.
