Abstract: An electrical machine comprising a cylindrical housing accommodating a rotor made in the form of at least two pole systems having pole projections and interconnected through a magnetic circuit, a stator having at least two stacks of laminations, and an excitation system. The excitation system is mounted on the outside of the housing and composed of magnetically conductive and nonmagnetic portions arranged alternately in an axial direction, with a respective stator stack secured to each of the magnetically conductive portions of the housing.
