  • Patent number: 9360686
Abstract: A digital measurement system and method for optical applications including a mobile client device having a digital camera and an audio port, and a laser measurement device having a laser and a magnetic card reader. The laser measurement device and the magnetic card reader are electrically connected to the audio port of the mobile client device. The mobile client device is configured to activate the laser at the same time as the digital camera is activated, capture an image of a patient, and calculate position of wear measurements based on a location of a laser mark in the captured image. The mobile client device also allows an order for a frame and lenses to be submitted to an ophthalmic laboratory, and payment transactions to be processed using the magnetic card reader.

  • Publication number: 20150049952
Abstract: Systems and methods for measuring facial characteristics of patients. In various embodiments, the system uses a geometric pattern to determine a reference scale for an image that includes the geometric pattern and at least a portion of the patient's face. The system may determine the reference scale based at least in part on a known measurement within the geometric pattern. The known measurement may include a distance between two geometric attributes of the geometric pattern. The system may be further configured to correct for errors caused by an orientation of the geometric pattern within the image and/or distortion of the geometric pattern within the image. The geometric pattern may be disposed on a reference device that may be configured to enable a user to attach the reference device to the head of the patient or a pair of eyewear worn by the patient.

  • Publication number: 20140240459
Abstract: A laser frame tracer (12) including a laser measuring unit (20) with a laser (36) and one or more cameras (38, 40) for optically measuring dimensions of eyeglass frames (10). A frame carrier (22) is provided for moving the eyeglass frames (10) through a laser line emitted by the laser (36). The frame carrier (22) includes a linear carriage (44) and a rotary carriage (88). Movement of the linear carriage (44) and the rotary carriage (88) are controlled by an on-board computer (116) which collects image data from the one or more cameras (38, 40). Image data is processed to determine a 3D model from which selected dimensions for the eyeglass frames (10) may be measured. The dimensions may be stored in a cloud database for access by others in cutting lenses to fit the eyeglass frames (10).

  • Patent number: 4520408
Abstract: A clock signal synchronization apparatus for decoding self-clocking encoded data generates data signals identical in frequency with the encoded data but progressively offset in time with respect to the encoded data signal. The delayed data signals are responsive to the clock rate of a clock signal generating means so as to be advanced or delayed in time with respect to the encoded data when the clock signal generating means is not synchronized with the encoded self-clocking data. The instantaneous binary states of the encoded data and the delayed data signals are sampled in parallel to detect one of a predetermined number of distinct trigger codes. The signals are continuously sampled to detect a correct following code after the detected trigger code to indicate that the clock signal is synchronized with the encoded, self-clocking data. Error codes will be detected prior to the correct following code for each distinct trigger code when the clock signal is delayed or advanced with respect to the encoded data.

  • Patent number: 4464634
Abstract: An audio power amplifier includes an input amplifier stage and an output power amplifier stage. The output power amplifier stage comprises a p-channel field effect transistor and an n-channel field effect transistor having interconnected drain electrodes forming an output signal terminal. A driver circuit is provided for driving the p-channel and n-channel field effect transistors in a transconductance mode of operation in which the output current through the field effect transistors is directly proportional to the input voltage applied to the output amplifier stage. A first feedback path is provided between the output power amplifier stage and the input amplifier stage. A second feedback path is formed between the output and input of the input amplifier stage.
