  • Patent number: 10252322
Abstract: A method for configuring a hand-held riveting tool operated by an electric drive to set a blind rivet element in a setting operation. The hand-held riveting tool includes a mandrel configured to perform an axial movement so as to perform the setting operation of the blind rivet element, and a control unit which monitors the axial movement of the mandrel. The mandrel includes a front end position to which the blind rivet element is fitted in a form-locked manner and/or a force-locked manner. The method includes axially moving the mandrel from the front end position into a rear end position which is assumed at a beginning of the setting operation, and automatically adjusting the rear end position of the mandrel based on a parameter provided to the control unit.

  • Patent number: 10220436
Abstract: A method for removing a blind rivet element from a riveting device. The riveting device includes a connecting device, a mandrel, a rotary drive which rotates the connecting element around a rotational axis of the connecting element, and a longitudinal drive which axially drives the connecting element relative to the rotational axis. The blind rivet element is screwed onto the mandrel of the riveting device. The mandrel is connected to the connecting element on the riveting device. The method includes starting an emergency program via a user input on the riveting device. The emergency program includes the steps of rotating the connecting element with the rotary drive in a rotating direction to separate the connection between the mandrel and the connecting element, and, upon reaching a default, stopping the rotation of the connecting element with the rotary drive.

  • Patent number: 10112232
Abstract: A riveting device for setting a blind rivet element includes a mandrel, a first motor comprising a first operative connection to the mandrel, and a second motor comprising a second operative connection to the mandrel. The mandrel is configured to have a rotational movement be transmitted thereto to screw the mandrel into the blind rivet element, and to be retracted into the riveting device by a retraction movement to produce an at least partial plastic deformation of the blind rivet element. The first motor transmits the rotational movement to the mandrel via the first operative connection. The second motor transmits the retraction movement to the mandrel via the second operative connection.

  • Publication number: 20170066043
Abstract: A method for setting up a riveter comprising an electrical drive which is configured to place a blind riveting element in a location hole. The riveter applies a tensile force to a tensile element of the blind riveting element during a rivet placement process so that the tensile element tears away from a remainder of the blind riveting element at a predetermined breaking point at an end of the placement process. The tensile force used to place the blind riveting element is defined by an adjustable maximum value which is determined during the setting up. The method includes performing the placement process with the blind riveting element of the type to be used, acquiring a progression of the tensile force during the placement process, determining at least one characteristic value from the progression, and fixing the adjustable maximum value as a function comprising the at least one characteristic value.
