Abstract: Device for measuring the length and number of fibers in an aqueous suspension has a sensor with an upper and lower electrode with an insulating part between the electrodes, a rectifying channel having an inlet and outlet part, the first in close contact with the upper electrode, the second in close contact with the lower electrode, with mutually aligned openings of the sensor and the rectifying means. This arrangement can be applied for such suspensions of fibers or other particles, the electric conductivity of which is different from the conductivity of their carrying medium.

Abstract: A blade conveyer for a digester of the Bauer M and D type, adapted particularly for treating of wood chips and similar material in the manufacture of cellulose, which is provided with blades with openings enabling passage of the boiling liquid substantially uniformly through the whole space between adjacent blades, securing thus a uniform treatment of the treated material and an efficient performance at different conditions of filling and thus an easy adjustment to conditions of other elements of a manufacturing line.

Abstract: Components of pulped scrap material containing paper, metal and plastic materials are separated by subjecting the pulped material to sorting in cyclone separators, the discharge from the top part thereof being led to a screen sorter where the material is divided into two parts, one part containing in its major part paper stuff, the other part containing plastic material, the discharge from the bottom part of the cyclone separators containing metal components.
