The composition can include a polymer solution, which includes a vinyl polymer such as one or both of a polyvinyl chloride homopolymer resin and a polyvinyl chloride acetate copolymer resin, a solvent, plasticizers, heat stabilizers, light stabilizers, pigments and antistats. The composition also preferably may include fillers, soil repellents, and flame retardants. The composition is applied by a knife-over-roll apparatus, a rotogravure printer, or other conventional applicating apparatus. After the composition is applied, the web is passed through a hot air oven maintained at a temperature in the range of from about 230.degree. F. to about 330.degree.
